#wipwednesday for an #ageofcalamity #zelink fic. Rhoam has enough of Link and Zelda tiptoeing around each other and takes matters into his own hands.

"It's been five years, Impa! They're clearly incapable of figuring it out on their own and I'm no longer watching this misery." He glanced at the shop window of the bakery and tugged the fabric in place again. "I cannot keep away the noblemen from her forever. They're already raising their eyebrows when I tell them we can't have balls and tea parties. It's hard to convince them that we don't have the financial means to organize pompous social gatherings when we are easily able to effort an over-sized greenhouse for Zelda's botanical studies."

Impa hummed and dipped a cookie into her tea. "A little rivalry could spice things up, don't you think? Maybe he's going to make his move when he sees others wooing her. Good old jealousy."

"I tell you what's going to happen. Link will grow into a pillar of stone that is shaped like a royal guard, stand at the wall in the ballroom, and talk himself out of laying eyes on her ever again." Rhoam shook his head.

I started working on a TP #zelink long fic. But the start might be more OoT... 😉

The grave she was approaching didn't have a headstone, its mark was a majestic tree, befitting for the soul it guarded. Zelda let her hand wander over the rough bark and then she cowered on the upturned root that had invited her the first time she came here, too.

She didn't have to wait for long.

Silent like a street cat, the golden wolf jumped into her vision from behind the tree, trying to draw the startled reaction he received from her when he did it for the first time. He must have been a mischievous soul once, under all the chains that fate had put on his heart.

A single, red eye settled on her face and his ears flickered back, as if he estimated her, as if he decided every time anew if she was worthy of his time. Then, he growled quietly and rested his snout on her thigh, nudging her to rub his head.

Blossoming Gossip Summary: When Zelda hears a rumor about Link she can hardly believe, she's sure it's just pointless gossip. But then he shows up with something that can only be an apology bouquet and things take quite the unexpected turn. archiveofourown.org/works/60467212 #zelink #ageofcalamity
