We love working with students from local universities and schools. Our latest collaboration with FH Burgenland resulted in this lovely new video about zeitkapsl, created by Annika Panusch together with Lara Wilfinger and Alina Loidl. Thank you for the creativity and great work, we love the result!

Long requested feature for our web app: upload whole folders not just single items. Now it's possible and preserves the existing folder structure and automatically creates folders/albums. The other app already did that, now the web does too. #degoogle #madeineu

The past few weeks have been a bit quiet from our end. We finally finished a huge refactoring of the Android/iOS apps that ultimately got rid of >30k lines of code. We migrated all viewmodel logic into the shared #go core allowing us way more code sharing while still offering native UI/UX. #oss

How do we advertise as a small bootstrapped privacy tech company staying true to ourselves? Paying Google, Meta&co for ad space was never an option. Instead we decided to sponsor @noyb.eu and support their important work defending our rights, and booked an ad-slot in this weeks GDPRtoday newsletter

Currently following the upload progress, especially on initial library imports on the mobile apps was a bit intransparent. With the next update, there is a nice upload progress view on the grid as well as in the settings page. #didit #degoogle

With the upcoming release of the Android (v 1.15.5) and iOS (v1.15.6) apps we have made it easier to add content to albums. You can now also directly add photos from the album view. Adding photos from the main grid still works as well of course. Now it works both ways #degoogle #googlephotos

🎉 Today, #zeitkapsl crossed 2 million photos stored.

Each photo represents a moment someone decided was worth keeping and trusted us to take care of it.

Trusting a startup is not easy, especially when it comes to personal memories.

We try to earn that trust through transparency, thoughtful decisions, and reliable, human support when things aren’t clear or don’t work as expected.

We carry that trust humbly and with respect.
