Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 21/08/2026I resent the need for sleep. Those 5 hours would be great if I could just have them. 020
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 30/07/2026I just like it. There's other stuff that I like, and I've got a side project for it, but it comes down to still having an interest in making music, and still enjoying the genre. Being part of the community helps, too, even though I'm not that active on social media and I'm quite withdrawn at times. 010
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 30/07/2026I didn't know that Hubba Bubba was still around, I just bought a pack. This is the first time I've had bubblegum in literal decades. Some guys buy a motorbike at this age, I buy gum. I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I still have some gum left, want one? 020
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 30/07/2026If I was chasing money or popularity I would just shit out a ton of kpop AI slop or something, not synthwave lol! For me it's always been about what I was into. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be rich and popular but that's never been the reason for making music in the first place. 150
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 04/07/2026I just realized that I haven't really done anything with music for a couple weeks - it's been my longest stretch of doing nothing since I started doing synthwave. 020
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 08/06/2026Wow, has it been 13 years? I played the hell out of it from release to last year. Never really played the public sessions since people are assholes but I had a blast just doing heists and missions, running from cops, and just bumming around with friends. 010

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 16/05/2026Fuck Gavin Newsom. I do believe that the worst Democrat is better than the best Republican, but that doesn't mean that I'm ever going to vote for his bigoted and elitist ass for anything. The only thing he's got going for him is his social media, which someone else manages. 220
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 15/05/2026Just watched a mashup between Reading Rainbow and DMX, and the next video was about children starving and being bombed in Gaza. It didn't even feel weird at first. What the fuck kind of world are we living in right now. 100
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 15/05/2026Definitely an opportunity to get heard but I don't know if I'd trust any mainstream news media outlet to a) prioritize your safety or b) not misrepresent you. I'd say that, if you're going to do it, keep your goals in mind and to hell with whatever soundbites they might be fishing for. Or fuck em. 010

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 12/05/2026Yeah, you actually need to know how to make music to make electronic music. Not so much with AI. But that just speaks to the kind of misconceptions that we as a species had back then. Funny how the pendulum seems to have swung in the other direction for a lot of people. 110
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 08/05/2026I remember back in the day when more people didn't respect electronic music. I was one of them. They said that anyone can make music on a computer and I agreed until I tried it. Now I realize that AI music today is what I thought electronic music was back then. 141

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 07/04/2026With the genres you listed I don't think it's that much of a stretch and I don't see any reason why it can't work. If you've got too much of a difference, like classical with thrash and gangsta rap or something, then I don't know if there's anyone who could pull it off. 110
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 01/04/2026I never realized how common it is for gen-x to try to avoid seeing Bloody Mary in a dark bathroom mirror even to this day. 030

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 31/03/2026No kidding! I would need to get the Suite or whatever the expensive version is, though, for my older stuff to work. Which in retrospect was kind of a waste but the tutorial I watched used those features. 010
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 31/03/2026Hm, so I can get 2 guns, 2 buckets of food, and maybe a sample pack or two! 010
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 31/03/2026I'm thinking about how to prepare for the apocalypse and realizing just how expensive that is. Just a pistol and a couple of months of MREs is going to be over a grand. For that kind of money I could get Ableton Live 12. 340

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 18/02/2026Glad to hear that you were able to push through that! You have to just keep going. I'm still doing something nearly every day even though most of the time I don't want to lol 120
Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 17/02/2026I have a number of tracks from last year still in production and it's been slow going. I still believe in them but it's made me wonder if I should still be doing this. Then one new idea really grabbed me and now I'm wondering if every release should be like that. It's just so easy in comparison. 330

Zed Arkadia @zedarkadia.com · 19/01/2026With the proliferation of AI music, the most immediate response that I can think of is to embrace imperfection, because it doesn't get any more human than that. I think there's a balance to be struck between trying to master your craft and breaking the rules. You don't need to be perfect. 042
