At some point I will return to reading the bulk of politcal and history books I’ve amassed, but I’ve always felt this deep sadness growing up without reading the classics so many had had instilled into them at a far younger age.

I’m 100 pages away from finishing East of Eden by Steinbeck and this is probably the greatest work of literature I have ever read. This tops Blood Meridian for me.

Two of the short stories, one being The Shadow of Innsmouth, are focused around white people “mixing” with monsters. You cannot analyze his work without approaching his overt racist beliefs.

There’s a part in Star Wars Dark Force Rising where a random fight breaks out and Skywalker is asked to intervene by the bar patrons. While the scene itself is not that notable. It does however add an aspect to the Jedi that I like

I’ve been on a Star Wars reading binge for a good month or so. While the books have been very entertaining and comforting, there is definitely a slight misogyny streak with many of the books. Specifically those from the 90s, which has dulled my enjoyment a bit.
