Harp Player 🎵 Melodies drift through the golden hour, carried by the soft resonance of ancient strings. #art #illustration #bishounen #イラスト

A digital manga-style illustration. It depicts a boy with curly brown hair, brown eyes, and warm olive skin, sitting on a stack of adorned floor cushions in a colorful interior. He is playing a wooden ancient Persian harp (chang). He is dressed in a blue tunic with gold embroidery, dark trousers, a red sash, a sheer red shawl draped over his shoulders, and laced leather sandals.

Warm sunlight streams in from a window on the left, casting a golden glow across the room. Rich red curtains frame the scene, and patterned rugs and ornate cushions surround the boy.

I am born in autumn, one of the best season if you don't mind. The weather is warmer, animals are out again, leaves on the floor, pretty colors...halloween. Got the idea when I though for way too long about why some leave curl on the floor. Yeah I have important reflections #leaf #landscape #deer

From the inside of a leaf curling on itself, you can see an autumn landscape including trees and a group of male deer. Digital art.

sometimes they're right but you can't tell them they are

3-panel comic, ink and colored pencil, 14x14cm
panel 1: zala zuri, an iranian trans woman and teacher, stands in front of a drawing of the pacific northwest on a whiteboard, holding a dry erase marker. she explains, "these states, washington and oregon (and sometimes idaho) are called the pacific northwest, or cascadia. can anyone guess where that name comes from?" a student calls out, "the cascade mountains?" miss zuri says, "very good! two points for the blue table!"
panel 2: a student asks, "miss z, why only sometimes idaho?" miss z answers, "great question! it's partly 'cause they're not on the ocean, and partly 'cause... uh... they have... different views."
panel 3: another student says, "oh, i've heard of them! they're crazy people called, 'republicans,' right??" miss zuri says, "um."

4 panel comic. panel 1: my sona smiling as speech bubbles surround mt using she/her pronouns and words like "girl."
panel 2: a new, squiggly scraggly speech bubble with the word "him" in it pops in from the right that blows everything away.
panel 3: the speech bubble shrinks and flitters down. i catch it in my hands. it lands with a plop. text reads: "It wasn't even said with malice. but it... it suddenly sounded wrong?"
panel 4: a close up shot of the crunchy speech bubble in my hands. more text surrounding it reads: it feels like a shirt that i've outgrown. did i just never notice? because it's all i've ever worn?"

Book lady (who is played by Noelle Holiday from deltarune cuz I thought she was cute) - Sorry what was that? They're speaking to me, I couldn't hear. (She had an ear piece in like agent smith or some shit but I think it's funnier to imagine she's just hearing voices so I didn't explain it at all except here. Woohoo bonus features in the alt text)
Navy- Um... Do you have SACRIFICE OF MY MANLY SOUL VOLUME 4?!
Book lady - Oh sorry it looks like the bi curious cross dressing GAY GAY GAY manga Sacrifice of My Manly Soul volume 4 isn't in stock today.
*A nun (specifically demi) is now staring from around the corner*
Book lady- Is there anything else I can help you with?
*Navy has already ran away*

"nujoshi"
6-panel comic, ink and colored pencil, 15x12cm
panel 1: miss zuri, an iranian trans woman and teacher, stands outside as a young student of hers runs up to her brandishing a piece of paper, saying, "miss z! miss z! do you wanna see this new drawing i made?" miss z responds, "sure, always!"
panel 2: we see miss z hold a drawing of two boys. the student explains, "look, i drew nate and william sitting in a tree, holding hands!" miss z says, "aww, that's sweet!" the student clarifies, "yeah, nate said he didn't like it, though. he thinks it makes him look gay."
panel 3: miss z looks unsure as she hands back the drawing and says, "oh... that's... not nice of him." her student says, "well, i DO ship them."
panel 4: miss z is dumbfounded
panel 5: miss z composes herself
panel 6: miss z explains, "ok. so. real people are not fictional characters. you need to get their consent to ship them. so you shouldn't ship real people. especially not your classmates."

Where I Spend My Days #comic #artist

A four panel sketchbook comic. Draw on yellow paper with paint markers and ink.
“Despair where I spend my days” The artist walks ahead, but completely slouched forward so that their hands are dragging along the ground. “Sorrow where I spend my nights” Under the blankets, clutching the covers closely to their sorrowful face. Raindrops adorn the scene. “Hope glimmers at sunrise” Looking at the shining and radiant sunrise. “Love embraces at twilight” Twilight personified reaches downward, lovingly touching the artist.

tr: Somehow it's always "the death of a 12-year-old girl is unfortunate but inevitable collateral damage in defense of the state," and never "the end of the state is unfortunate but inevitable collateral damage in defense of a 12-year-old girl's life." I'd rather 12-year-old girls live than states.

I traveled across Iran in 2004 as a very young person. It's a beautiful country w/mountainous geography reminiscent of Colorado or Montana. Everywhere I went, people seemed eager to reassure me "we hate your government, not you." In our own hell, we are now experts at making that same distinction.

I immediately thought of Delacroix when I read that Minnesotans were building barricades… The last few weeks have been dark and heavy, but the resilience and bravery shown by the people of Minneapolis has been a bright light in the midst of it all. We need to look for the light.
