Like surely there's an exception... Somewhere... There's always exceptions to this kind of thing always. Even the cute ones I can think of at least aestheticly vibe kodana or egl.

Felix's stupid rambling got him called morbid and like my first thought was "of course he's a little morbid, he's a Duskwight" And then my brain broke a little... I don't think I've ever encountered a Duskwight oc that wasn't goth or a bit morbid or alternative in some way.

Baz *is* studying to become an Archon of fifth astral anthropology, with a focus on magic and its use in daily life during that time. He doesn't hate it, but he'd jump at the chance to permamently get out of Sharlayan if it didn't result in losing everything.

000

Zaeriz @zaeriz.neocities.org · 11h

Felix would take that chance in a heart beat. He'd study aether, specifically what happens to aether when Ashkin become ashkin or like drowned (etc) become drowned in an attempt to figure out what's going on with his levin issue. But he'd be terrible at it and too chaotic to last in that enviroment.

100

Zaeriz @zaeriz.neocities.org · 11h

If the opertunity to study in Sharlayan came again, D'rinha wouldn't jump at it the way he did when he was younger. He knows things now that he didn't then, and after having that first chance stripped away, it wouldn't feel the same.

No point on fearmongering. Modding/plugins are just too big and contrary to what a lot of people like to believe it does not encompass just "modding" in the Sims 4 sense of the word. Dalamud is a money maker for XIV and SE knows that.

Realistically speaking however we need to keep in mind that SE has access to a lot more data than we give them credit for & I bet they know exactly who mods and how through chat logs alone if they really want to dig. They wouldn't get rid of it because they have more to lose than to gain without it.

Bazil *is* actually charming and confident. There's no mask and it's not hidden beneath awkwardness. That doesn't make him a good person, he just doesn't *lead* with the abrasive arrogance and contempt for authority. I think he's MOSTLY likeable, but might still bristle some people.

020

Zaeriz @zaeriz.neocities.org · 22h

Felix is very likeable in small doses, but too much probably gets annoying. The charming and confident side is a mask, and the real him is needier, hot headed, and doesn't actually know how people work at all. The chaos is always there though.

Zaeriz @zaeriz.neocities.org · 22h

I think D'rinha is more likeable than he thinks he is. He didn't used to be, but presently, he's very chill and awkward, and there's a charm underneath the ways he carries himself that hints at how eager he is to actually get spoken to these days.

Also the one who knows is Bazil. I edited this to use his name since "the stranger" doesn't help readability out of context... But here's a snippet from a scrapped but canon bit of prose I wrote.

"What's this? 'The Hollow Return'...?" Bazil lifts a stack of paper that should have stayed hidden at the back of a shelf.

Tail fur stands on end. "P— Put that down!"

D'rinha scrambles past the table and over a stack of books to reach for it, only for the Hyur to smirk and spin out of the way, holding the stack out of reach.

The hyur flips through the pages until something catches his eye and he begins to read aloud. "'The waters had changed him, changed his heart and twisted it. A new man, but one unreachable, unattainable. Distant. Aster tried his best. But nothing ever returned of the love he and Heath had. And many summers later, in his elder turns, he longed for the one who once understood him so effortlessly...'"

D'rinha shrinks, his ears pinning back flat against his hair.

A heafty brow raises, a smirk growing larger as he skimmed through the rest. "'To want someone is a terrible thing, Mr. Larkspur. I do not bother with it...' And what the hells is this? Old man erotica?"

Bazil lowers the stack just enough that mangled fingers can snatch it away and D'rinha can scutter off, shielding the manuscript with all of what little there was of himself until it could be stuffed in a desk drawer to be forgotten.

"Tisn't for you tis what it is, aye? Horror. Horror. Horror..."

130

D'rinha started a novel in secret a while ago! It's sea side horror and a bit of old man BL. Only one person knows about it, and if anyone else found out, he'd die. His main oc is a lonely hyur named Aster. He also named all of his characters after flowers with flower language in mind.

Mch is a good option! The guns are basically wands so it might match the mage jobs Mitan has going.

A bear-y grisly celebration is on its way. 🐻 All Saints' Wake returns to FFXIV on Thursday, October 15! 👻 sqex.to/p39ox

Image is the key illustration for the All Saints' Wake 2026 event. A large figure in a full-body bear costume with exaggerated stitching and button embellishments looms ominously in the back with its mouth open wide and tongue sticking out. They are holding a pipe in one hand and green smoke emanates from around their head. In front of them to the left is Leofard, who is looking up at the bear and grinning while shrugging his shoulders. To the right Cait Sith looks back at the bear figure with a scared expression, front paws sticking out and tail raised in fear. The background of the illustration is decorated with carved pumpkins and small ghosts.

you may have noticed that animation has never been more in-demand & in the zeitgeist and yet, seemingly, never have media conglomerates been less willing to produce it. you may also notice these guys get multimillion dollar severance packages after they gut a studio. there is probably no connection

Felix would probably post a lot of selfies on instagram and a bunch of nonsense on bsky. Probably also has a tumblr but hasn't been there since 2014. Baz would have the basics for keeping up appearances, but then has a secret tumblr & bsky where he has a ton of posts his dad would freak out about.

D'rinha would run a nice little tumblr blog with a bunch of ghost stories and a youtube channel wherr his face is rarely seen but he vlogs himself hunting down local legends and stuff.

I got a little firey at 2am on like day three of not sleeping much, but all of this still stands. Though maybe with less some guy getting rowdy on a soap box energy.

000

They really should! I feel like they'd have some fun opinions to share with each other about it.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I def wish I could write him more outside of my own prose for myself.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!

I would get nothing from cat nip, and I don't think it's smart to drink anything the fae offer.

220

But like I don't smoke catnip or sip on weird leaf faerie tea and toad juice either so like I don't think I have to go beyond reading about this to write it.

100

My drinking exp is like: - One time I found out there was whiskey in Irish cream brownie ice cream and they apparently don't cook it off - Grandma being like "have a bit of this to chill out" and getting my ass kicked because I just took her word for it Its very not my kinda thing.

100

Anyway its weird that people just like run some supposedly evil green wood juice over a glass and call that an ingredient for a cocktail. Like is it even still there at that point???

110

It's really funny how like I learn three handfuls of new words any time I look in to something for Felix that I'm just not in to at all. lol "I need to know *one* thing" -> *spends several hours falling down a rabbit hole because that thing needed me to understand other things*
