My argument is that most (younger) people probably know the name "the Beatles" and a couple of songs, but probably couldn't name all 4 members, or know anything about their personal lives, despite decades of media on the subject. Popular actor + recognizable band name isn't a bad idea for a biopic

That's the thing though, the Beatles didn't play on the radio. They didn't show up on commercials. Or in movies. Unless you were seeking them out, and actively consuming their music, the Beatles start and end as "that really famous boy band from the 60's" for most people. Especially young people.

Not just the expense, but the insane overprotectiveness Apple touted for decades. Remember when Harmonix made The Beatles Rock Band? They forced the devs to fly out to Abbey Road to access the masters, do a lot of their dev work on site, AND it's the only Rock Band game that didn't let you export!
