I think what I like about Benett Foddy is that this isn't a lot of progress. And in fact the only "progress" you make in the game is mechanical skill, and thus by falling you gain progress through repetition.

Nintendo is lazy. Resting on their laurels & hampered by success, they gave up innovation and artistic risk when the Switch and every game they made for it proved that rote homogeny outsells creativity or testing the limits of convention.

I don't know how it happened but somewhere along the way I stopped being excited when this or that video game released. Maybe because I own plenty I've yet to play? Or outgrew FOMO? I still love gaming and do it daily. I simply don't NEED a new game, and can't imagine being 𝗛𝗬𝗣𝗘𝗗 at the age of 41.

Great triumph. (1st try, btw) I still don't fw the humor of the game when donkeys are on screen. But all the human characters are cool enough, and I just love the actual gameplay.
