Indiana’s Grand Kankakee Marsh — once one of the largest wetlands on the continent, rivalling the Everglades. It was drained starting in the 1850s and was basically entirely lost to agriculture by 1920.

the japanese apricots are starting to bloom! IMO their flowers are way prettier than yoshino cherries, they smell like heaven (like toasted almonds mixed with flowers) and bloom way earlier than cherries, my personal favorites
