DAWs basically are instruments. It requires learning to use them in very much a similar way that you need to learn any technique. I don't think "prompting an AI to make a generic beat" is comparable because you're not learning anything about how the sounds are made or mixed! No process, no magic.

Psychologically though I think a large part of people's arguments regarding our future are based on this unwillingness to acknowledge the reality of their own mortality. What would it mean for you and your life in things actually were getting worse and you couldn't stop them? Pretty disempowering.

The other corollary (which I see frequently from people who label themselves as "anti-doomer") is a refusal to acknowledge any possibility of collapse so it leads to the same passivity - 'someone else will figure it out, so I don't need to do anything' - both are coping with the same uncertainty.
