I've had an old flat-screen Sylvania display for a long time. It became really handy when I got into retro console because it has component, composite, S-video, VGA, and HDMI. Plays nice with the old systems as far as I can tell.

One of the most gorgeous PS1 games, with a bonkers plot about UNIVAC and an alien time traveling virus and mech pilot from the future. If you're wondering why Polyphony suddenly made a mech game, it's from Panzer Dragoon peeps who joined them after Sega disbanded Team Andromeda.

As far as I could tell the laser and the rest of the drive was ok, in fact it was in great condition for an old system. This will probably be my last update on the Playstation to give me a chance to play some games and test it further after that I'll do a more in depth write-up on it. (4/4)

But then, last night, I remembered I had an old DVD player that loaded disc the same way as the Playstation. So earlier today, I grabbed it, took the spindle out, then put it in the Playstation. And it worked! Getting no skips in the game or music and got a full hour on Alundra to test it. (3/4)

I figured it was an issue with the laser and was thinking of getting a new one, but then as I tested i found when I pressed down on the spindle on the motor, it would help the games load better, not perfect but am improvements. So i order some extras to install during the weekend. (2/3)

In my previous post, I talked about getting Playstation, and I wanted to give an update. So far it works great! Got my memory card and now rocking some burned games to play. The only main issue i found after my testing was that the games were skipping and having problems loading (1/4) #gaming #retro

What are you doing in the stick? Changing the stick or buttons? Also, this stick looks nice to. Looks cool!

Meant to post this yesterday, but i managed to get my hands on a working Playstation with cables and controller. Works great mainly thing I did was clean the open button so it wouldn't get stuck. I've already ordered a memory card for the system so I'll update when that comes. #Retro #Playstation

One memory I have involves my Grandma. I was young and I had just started getting into the Metroid series, this was in NYC at the time. While my parents were out one day, she would take me out and we'd try to find game stores around us that had Metroid, with us finding First Hunt and Fusion.

Oh hey, it's National Video Games Day. 🎉 As it's likely plenty clear, video games, their history, and popular culture mean a lot to me. And they've been lifelines and comfort when I've struggled with depression. Share a fond video game memory, peeps. And/or a game that means a lot to you. 💜

I remember when I first got this game along with my Wii, I was all over Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, but i remember seeing Samus on the cover of Prime 3, and they lookedso cool. Then I finally played it I couldn't put it down. One of my faves and intro to my favorite series.

It's been a bit Metroid-ey here, so I'm going to celebrate the release 18 years ago today of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: my favourite Metroid game. It's my fav for some specific reasons (motion control implementation, world design and found narratives), and hope it does get a remaster some day.

A gameplay snap of Bryyo, with rocky orbs semi shattered lashed to rocky, barren peaks by chains. These are actually docked spacecraft used by the dead race that once inhabited it and hurled them into space, which is just such a cool and exotic bit of technology to explore.

📖 Bytes of Game Ads 📺 "Urgent Order! Space Warrior Samus Appears!" The strongest space warrior, Samus Aran, rises to stop the Metroid proliferation plan and save the galaxy! Love this ad and the little glowy wireframe sequence of leaping and running Samuses; makes me think of the old Epyx boxes.

A Japanese ad for the original Metroid release on Famicom Disk System with a large illustration of Samus in the armour as it appeared then standing in a pillared corridor with smaller wireframe and pale blued Samuses (Sami?) running and leaping

Overall, great movie! And highly recommend it for a fun movie. I'm not sure how the new universe will fair, but if its able to keep up like this one, I think it has a chance to be a good time. Imagine a Justice League movie with this cast? Sounds like a good time. Can't wait to see what's next (7/7)

And again, I love that it's not trying to be too serious. One of the things that I feel bogged down Man of Steel was that it was trying to be more serious than it needed to. Especially for a characte for SM. Its a breath of fresh air to have a movie thats just fun and not doing to much. (6/7)

I also liked the use of Ma and Pa in this one. Because while its revealed that his actual parents didn't have the best intentions, (almost very sayian of them) I like that they are able to ground him as the person he is, loved and guided by two good people, and his love for Earth. (5/7)

David Corenswet also did a really good job as Superman, he does a good job of acting like an experienced Superman, while also begin pushed more in this adventure. He gets hit and sells them really well. I especially like the chemistry with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois I thought it was fun! (4/7)

Z3K @z3kr0m.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

I also like that the other comic heros weren't to shoved in, it still felt like Superman's movie and they felt like set dressing for the world that their building. I especially liked Nathan Fillion as Green Lanturn, and Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific. The latter being my favorite. (3/7)

Z3K @z3kr0m.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

I can see where some people might not like, especially if your not into James Gunn's comedy. But i didn't really mind it. It kept the movie fun and I thought a good amout of the jokes were funny. Clark getting mad at SuperShit stuck with me the whole movie. (2/7)

Got out of the theater for the #Superman movie. Really good! Had a lot of fun in the theater and really enjoyed the movie. Not just as an entry in this new DCU. But just as a good Superman/Comic book movie. With it able to have fun and not be bogged down by tons of lore or past events. (1/7)
