So...fun fact. It took 3 & 1/2 weeks for my husband and I to receive our mail-in ballots from ElectionsAB and they happen to arrive today, the same day as this UCP govt propaganda lands in our mailbox, all funded by AB taxpayers. Isn't this guide intended to influence voters? 🤔 #abpoli #ableg

I subscribe to this wild policy approach that the most moral decision is often the cheapest and the most effective. But we currently don’t have people in government who want to do the best, most efficient, most affordable thing. So, we get expensive cruelty instead. 6/6

Incredible chart from @propublica.org. If you don’t follow enviro stuff closely, your instinct might be that the hold-your-nose solution (carbon capture from fossil fuels) would be the “pragmatic” one versus covering Earth in solar panels, which seems utopian. In fact it’s the opposite

This is what a so-called free market-favouring govt putting their thumb on the scale to support a dying industry looks like. Renewables, particularly solar, are now definitively the cheaper option for energy generation. The UCP’s assault on renewables robs Albertans of lower energy bills. #ableg

There are all kinds of ways to be an Albertan, and I am not an"extra-special" Albertan just because I was born in Alberta, nor because my family has lived in the province for nearly 125 years. You can be Albertan if you arrived 5 years ago or last Thursday.

This article gets to the crux of this issue nicely: the goal for city councils should not be to figure out how to game the funding system and test enforcement; it should be about taking the necessary steps to meet the housing needs of the city they serve.
