Historically, third parties were on their own, which meant having little access to fundraising infrastructure and constantly having to battle narratives that they're just spoilers.
Now, more and more financial, operational and relational
infrastructure is available to support them. There is a PAC to support a slate of Independent Candidates at independentswin.com/independent-sl... and even their first superPAC at independentpac.us.
@Sen_JoeManchin has come out as a major supporter of the Independent movement, as written up in the NYT article at nytimes.com/2025/09/16/ us/.... We're seeing more convenings of leaders and more interest among exhausted voters and donors and former legislators looking for change.
It's nowhere near what the major parties have, but it's getting better every cycle and I believe we've crossed a tipping point.

The candidates this year are legit, and that's the most exciting part. They aren't just competitive, in several races the independent is AHEAD currently:
@osbornforne is up in the polls in Nebraska's Senate race. @Achilles4Idaho is neck in neck in Idaho's Senate race. @brianbengs is neck in neck in South Dakota's Senate race. @SethBodnarForMT is in the mix in a tough senate race in Montana. In the house, @KevinKileyCA is effectively tied for CA-6 and @BillHiLLAK is in a tough race for Alaska's at-large seat, flying puddle-jumpers all over the state in the meantime.
I was able to meet most of these folk in person and they struck me as solid, genuine people who want to do good. They also joined the United Independents slate, which means they've agreed to caucus with independents, not the major parties, if they win. To me, this represents our best chance ever of electing not one, but multiple true independents to the House and especially the Senate.
