i sincerely need people to stop consuming media by looking up essays or guides that tell them how they're SUPPOSED to think and feel and start actually opening their eyes and actually engage with the media

Most of my original works have become long scope projects, so while I wrestle with those, I also want to make time for my shorter projects! You can expect a lot of new music posts this winter ❄️

YuuSen 🎶🎹 @yuusen1.bsky.social · 07/11/2025

It looks like I've entered the long term phase of writing 反省曲 Part of me wanted to finish this year so I could get a winter reading, but the music decides for itself 🙂‍↕️ With that out of the way, my pacing is going to be way longer, maybe next July it'll be done 😵‍💫

Yeah, even regular seasons are getting turned into movies for bigger profit. Series like SAO/Fate at least have a good reason since they're for canon events outside the main story Idk how Haikyuu is going to replace a full 25 ep season with 2 movies

How do you all start a new composition/idea? I typically find myself improvising something at the piano, but I'm kinda looking to change up my process a bit to spice things up. Would be curious how y'all get started!

YuuSen 🎶🎹 @yuusen1.bsky.social · 15/04/2025

I've been working on a traditional approach with sketching ideas down on paper - something that helps me a ton is actually visualizing my inspiration (eg. why am I writing?) - and then after I find something, I create a theme motif reflecting that and start building from there.

YuuSen 🎶🎹 @yuusen1.bsky.social · 11/04/2025

That's fair lol it's definitely more of a film/soundtrack thing Piano seems to be popular in Japan's anime/video game osts too and it's my favorite thing ever (Sawano and Hayashi use piano all the time)

this too, even as a piano player it's hard not to go all out when it's a soloist, you have 88 notes my last two piano works had lots of crazy rhythms/multiple octave jumps within a passage that made it almost impossible to play 💀

YuuSen 🎶🎹 @yuusen1.bsky.social · 11/04/2025

Piano is the greatest orchestral instrument for this reason

I'm still figuring it out myself but if you're enrolled in uni comp lessons you can get in touch with people in the orchestra and they're usually happy to read your music for starters. Just had my 1st reading last night and it's my 2nd semester in lessons 😵‍💫
