We have been going through Killjoys on the podcast and something to marvel about this series is that it managed to survive when so many other shows didn't. Sci-fi shows often don't get that chance to tell their stories but Killjoys managed to do that and be the little show that could.

The character arcs in Killjoys can be simple but truly effective and it's wonderful to see the designated asshole through the five seasons start to care about other people and become a part of the team.

One of the strongest parts of Killjoys is the aspect of dealing with previous traumas and the importance of found family. It's really nice to see a secondary character like Zeph go through such a journey and bond with the rest of Team Awesome Force.

More shows could learn from Killjoys and have cool characters like Pree.

Killjoys on the surface is a pulpy bounty hunter show but something to commend about the series was the unflinching exploration of generational abuse. An interesting touch was that even the big bad of the show wasn't immune to the horrifying ramifications of this type of toxic behaviour.

More shows could benefit from the raw power of putting Hannah John-Kamen in a silly outfit and giving her a gun!

More projects need to use Hannah John-Kamen like Killjoys did! Let her kill Doctor Doom.

RIP Gerrit Graham! One of the joys of Babylon 5 was a wide range of eccentric guest star performances for the Centauri and Gerrit Graham was the first of so many in the series.

Killjoys is a low budget sci-fi show done right! It made up for its limitations by having a lot of heart, showing off a surprising amount of ambition, and spending time on the fun ensemble of characters.

Yum Yum Podcast @yumyumpodcast.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Khlyen is one of the most fascinating characters in Killjoys and the last season delights in stripping him of his power, not letting his usual bag of tricks work, and teaming him up with a bizarre alien creature that both hates him and wants his affection.

One of the funnier dynamics in Killjoys is seeing Khlyen on the back-foot to an emotionally unstable weirdo alien

One of the most fascinating things in Killjoys is the relationship between Kendry and Aneela. These two characters have been separated longer than they've been together yet due to wonderful chemistry and attentive writing we feel so much for the Green Queens.

One of the best running bits in Killjoys is how terrible Dutch and D'avin are at acting and doing undercover jobs. There's always a lot of fun to be had at seeing talented performers have to do some bad acting.

Hannah John-Kamen and Luke Macfarlane doing what they do best in Killjoys... hamming it up!

Killjoys is a show about family, and that’s what’s so powerful about it.

D'avin is yet again stuck in some family drama!

Yum Yum Podcast @yumyumpodcast.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

A nice recurring bit in Killjoys is just how sheltered from the world Aneela is and having to teach her these often annoying facets of everyday life.

Everyone's favourite couple in Killjoys are at it again!

Killjoys is an underrated series in the sci-fi TV landscape and one that some modern shows could learn from. There's an ensemble of lovable characters, cool worldbuilding, a big overarching plot and we get to see the lead actress kick ass in a variety of fun outfits!

Killjoys is a very serious show that also happens to be an excuse to see Hannah John-Kamen wearing a variety of sexy outfits.

There's so much to like about Killjoys but the dynamic between Dutch and Johnny is the real highlight!

Dutch and Johnny from Killjoys being the perfect dysfunctional yet platonic relationship in sci-fi TV.

Sometimes all a sci-fi episode needs to be about is hot people beating up a bunch of goons.

A Bout, a Girl is just an episode of Killjoys that's just Dutch kicking ass and looking good while doing it.

Really do appreciate that one of the final foes in Killjoys is the same slimeball that the team had to face-off against in the very first episode. It's always nice when a series remembers its past but also when an actor can come back and chew the scenery. #Killjoys #SyFyChannel #Syfy
