Logistic-led #DnD sessions can be a heap of fun - #DungeonsAndDragons doesn’t always need to be about exploring and combat. I put some thoughts down over on my blog. yumdm.short.gy/LogisticL… #TTRPG #OldSchoolGaming

I’ve put some thoughts down on my website about going full analogue with my #DnD campaigns (even the online ones). Feel free to add to the conversation and help the article grow. yumdm.short.gy/AnalogueD… #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG #OldSchoolGaming

I’ve updated my old school #DnD website to a more user-friendly design, with the focus being more about growing articles organically, over time. This means more postings & updates to older posts. This is the start of a more community #TTRPG space. #DungeonsAndDragons

The town of Darsildorf, home-based in my #SoloRPG #OSE campaign. It’s not complete but I add to it as needed. Many adventures have started in this settlement, and many more to come yet. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG #DnD

I GM’d a session of my 2-player #DnD game last night - @Geekoholick couldn’t make it, so the other player decided to work on his tower/inn. It was a purely logistics-based session: selling items, paying retainers, making deals, and it was heaps of fun! #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG

In #DnD, I think we need to change the term ‘random encounters’ to ‘random events’ - it allows for a wider set of tables and I think would get more newer players to start using them more often. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG Art by @Geekoholick

Distance is a good one. Plains and Rough. I mark each square with it's major terrain, plus random event chance, plus any undulation in the terrain for sight purposes.

Stop making your #DnD campaign maps perfect. No-one in history ever made an accurate map. They used to argue about where places were located all the time. Let you PCs discover the truth. #DungeonAndDragons #WorldBuilding #TTRPG

Hey Jose. Thanks for chiming in. Love your work. I have a basic idea about how the solo version will work, but I haven't tested it yet. I need to re-learn the basics as I haven't played since the mid-90s. :)

I found my #Shadowfist cards the other day. I am very happy. I’ve had those since the mid 90s. Thinking about creating a solo version of it, as I love the #FengShuiRPG this #CCG spawned.

With AI so prevalent, it’s the time for more online communities to form. The “open web” is a threatened species. The answer may be to build “trust networks”. Groups of individuals you trust & admire. The #TTRPG scene is a good example. But it cannot be on walled platforms. #DnD

Still working on the design. Mucking around with form & colours. Zines have prominent space at the top, then articles by categories and sub-categories based on the three pillars of my articles: 1. Old School #DnD, 2. #SoloRPG, and 3. #WorldBuilding. #TTRPG #DungeonsAndDragons

Instead of having a bunch of unrelated posts, in reverse chronological order, each post would sit with similar posts, and then sub-organised into how gamers use it at the table (whether that's group, solo, or worldbuilding). Secondary hub pages would be vital. #TTRPG #DnD

I’m thinking about my #DnD & #TTRPG website & I want it to be more like a digital garden than a traditional blog. A place gamers can wander & discover, rather than a list of posts in reverse chronological order. A place to digitally sit & read my zines. #DungeonsAndDragons

There are many ways you can turn #DnD from a “kitchen sink” fantasy into one that makes sense. Limit weapons (or materials) to certain nations/cultures/races, limit monsters found in those regions, think about culture & food & clothing. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG

One trait I took away from races in Issue 58 of d12 Monthly is any sort of racial darkvision/infravision. Elves get low-light vision & dwarves get deepvision. This means torches, lanterns, or magic are a must & it keeps darkness scary. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG #DnD

I love the idea of a solo #DnD game focused on regional management. Every in-game month, random tables drive events & I decide how local settlements & factions react. No individual PCs - just managing adventuring parties as factions, simplifying combat #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG
