It all came together super quick and relatively last minute, make a note of it for next year, I have a feeling it's going to be a LOT of fun!!

If you're in town next week HMU and stop by some of the events. If you're not in town, then plan to be in town around this time next year, because if this is what we can pull together in just one month, imagine what @nygamesweek.bsky.social will look like with a YEAR of planning.

Finally my collaborators @pryde.bsky.social and Amit Hossain, who have been a JOY to work with. We're each very driven entrepreneurs with unique skillsets and experiences, and somehow we've gelled together on this project with a cohesive vision and drive that is usually unheard of in this industry.

A massive shout out to NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, New York City Economic Development Corporation, and Empire State Development for their support and recognition - look to see the New York Games Week branding all over the cities digital signs due to their support too.

For something that came together basically in the last month with zero budget, this has been pretty astonishing to see the interest and reception to it - goes to show there is absolutely a NEED for more gaming events and opportunities for people to connect on the East Coast.

Not to mention the inclusion and partnership of New York Comic Con and Advertising Week New York, as well as one of the bigger indie expos Game-A-Palooza featuring over 60 playable games. And I haven't even listed everything - there's more, check out www.nygamesweek.com to see!

It's why companies literally hire promo people who are friendly, personable, and high energy - but being the actual CREATOR of the game is better than all of that, as long as you can be at least minimally welcoming.

EB Games used to do a convention there that was solid, I think the question is what the format would be. Local publishers don't have the budget to do more events in Australia IMO, timing would be everything, or focus on another gaming aspect (retro, community, tabletop)
