Putting my money where my mouth is, I got Songs For The Dusk by @yrgirlkv.leafside.studio printed in hardback for when I'm ready to go back to Tamaris and my gang of smugglers in The Rough. And until then it can take a place on my bookshelf next to Blades In The Dark.

Songs for the Dusk front cover featuring a party of characters making plans as they look over some ruins.

just getting to see the setting animated so lushly is certainly refreshing. gonna have to see how i feel about the plot

i'm not sure how i feel about the show depicts sitara's relationship to being a khwarazmian slave vs. a mongolian one. the opening episodes present it with a degree of naivety that merits some immediate skepticism

kavita poduri @yrgirlkv.leafside.studio · 05/07/2026

the tension of conflicting experiences of slavery is interesting too but it's also quite grim. as is often true of history

share code redacted bc i use a pseudonym on champions but here's a pokepaste if you want to try it out: pokepast.es/e49035def16a... i haven't calculated these stats with any degree of precision and also am not sure incineroar is necessarily the best choice for a sixth sloth here

been using this team lately in champions :) it looks like a mega glimmora team, but i think i've been finding out that secretly it might actually be a sylveon team. pixilate hyper beam is one of the funniest moves in the world

screencap of a pokemon champions team featuring glimmora, gyarados, sylveon, garchomp, whimsicott, and incineroar.

dissecting an enemy pokemon team and defeating them is one of the best feelings in the world. i was about to click moves, said aloud to myself "let's not get baited by wide guard," & changed from spread moves to single target. and lemme tell you the joy when i saw "Pelipper used Wide Guard!" was...

"but don't farming and energy efficiency involve other people who could be your friends? and aren't there good reasons to want interpersonal efficiency, like dividing yr time between lots of friends or making sure a negotiation is fair?" yes. this is where life becomes what we call "complicated"

060

kavita poduri @yrgirlkv.leafside.studio · 16/04/2026

i think a lot of problems are caused by a specific and very human impulse to get the most result from the least effort—an impulse that can noble for things like "improving farming" or "being more energy efficient" and is often disastrous for things like "negotiating with others" or "having friends"
