Hear from Max from the Scottish Borders, who joined Your Party after years as a social worker witnessing our dysfunctional system’s human toll. He calls for honest politics that fights hardship’s real roots, not lies blaming the vulnerable, as do we! Thank you for your words Max!

Important decisions were made at today's branch meeting! We chose our Election Oversight Committee reps, voted to turn the branch into a Regional Association, and decided not to stand branch candidates for Holyrood 2026. Thanks to all members who joined us today to shape the future of our branch!

Our first Listening Campaign canvass is done and we couldn't be more happy! Members were out asking the people of Leith what would make life better for them and we had great conversations! We’re thrilled to be back on the streets talking with the public every week from now, see you there!
Graphic with “Your Party Edinburgh & Lothians” logo at the top and the heading “Listening Campaign”. Below, black text thanks branch members for taking part in the launch of the Listening Campaign in Leith, says canvassing will now happen weekly across Edinburgh, and describes going into communities to have conversations that real change is built on, ending with “We hope to see you at the next canvassing session!”. This appalling case of an elderly tenant with multiple sclerosis struggling up to her third‑floor flat is not a one‑off. It is the result SNP austerity and weak regulations that enable landlords and factors to neglect basic repairs while tenants suffer!
Graphic with “Your Party Edinburgh & Lothians” logo at the top. Below, bold text condemns discrimination against a disabled elderly woman denied lift repairs and calling for landlords and factors to be criminally liable. The FWS legal challenge attacking trans women’s right to be held in women’s prisons is dangerous and dehumanising. Trans women are women, and denying their safety is a violation of basic human rights. We condemn this legal review as the latest assault on trans people's civil rights and dignity.
Graphic from Your Party Edinburgh & Lothians with a trans pride flag, condemning the ‘For Women Scotland’ legal action against the Scottish government over trans women in prisons. The text denounces the case as transphobic, warns that placing trans women in men’s prisons violates human rights, and expresses solidarity with trans people. A news headline about the court case appears at the bottom.

Bombing a sovereign nation and kidnapping the President is the behaviour of a cowboy state. The United States’ attack on Venezuela is illegal — and it is utterly shameful that the UK government refuses to condemn this reckless act of war.

Our inaugural branch meeting was a blast! We agreed a branch structure, set in motion dozens of member actions in our breakout groups and will be running our first committee elections THIS MONTH 😱
A group photo showing dozens of people standing on stage - there are tables in front of them littered with coffee cups and meeting notes, while screens behind them show the last of our meeting slides. Everything is a little bit pinker than you'd expect, as the hall we were in was heated by infrared lamps to keep us cozy on a brisk wintery evening 🥶

We remember our murdered siblings not only as victims of an unjust world, but as part of a movement of resistance. We hope that our trans and non-binary siblings can take time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we turn those feelings into determination.
Title: TRANS DAY OF REMEMBERANCE
Body: We hope that all of our trans and non-binary siblings can take some time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we will turn those feelings into a determination to make the world a better place.Body: We recognise the 360 known trans and non-binary people who have lost their lives prematurely this year. The true number of those lost is likely to be higher due to underreporting and misrepresentation of trans identity in the media and police reports.

Honouring their memory is not just about mourning but also demanding justice. Systemic failures in healthcare, policing, housing and employment frequently leave trans people vulnerable.Body: 78% of those killed in transphobic hate crimes were trans women of colour. We must be explicitly clear that the intersections of racism, misogyny and transphobia put trans women of colour in the most danger. Trans liberation is impossible without an uncompromising struggle against racism, misogyny, ableism and all other forms of oppression.

The “magic money tree” exists: it’s in the City of London with the billionaires. What’s missing isn’t money, it’s political will. Establishment parties bankrolled by billionaires aren’t going to tax their donors. We are not going to take this anymore.

YP statement on the events of today
Against a greyscale background of raised fists, red text reads:
"STATEMENT FROM YP EDINBURGH

The excitement of this morning has already given way to gossip and rumour of infighting among the MPs, and many are worried about the impact this will have on the launch of Your Party.

Fortunately, Your Party doesn't belong to the MPs, it belongs to all of us. The events of today are exactly why grassroots power is what this country needs.

We will continue our work in our communities to build on the excitement that fills the air in Edinburgh and all across the UK.

When this squabble is resolved and we can share something concrete with you we will, but for now we are focused on the task at hand and can't wait to share the results with you soon!

We still recommend that you sign up to become a member at the link, but you can still join our organising without doing so until this is resolved."

Be part of history.
Against a backdrop of raised fists, red text reads:

"BE PART OF HISTORY

Today, we advance the process of founding our new party — one that belongs to its members, not to the establishment.

Britain’s political class is united. They pursue war and profit, while our lives get worse. For too long, the rich have set this country’s political agenda.

Not any more.

Our party will take the power back.
Achieving this objective requires a mass democratic movement that meets people where they’re at, organises with them to build power in our communities and lays strong foundations to transform our country.

We can do this. But it’ll take all of us.

In the next two weeks, we will kick off the full founding process: opening our membership portal, initiating wide democratic debate and publishing draft versions of our four core founding documents — our Political Statement, Constitution, Rules, and Organisational Strategy. "As previously, reading:

"These documents will be drafts in the truest sense, ready to be edited and evolved.

Members will be able to comment, suggest changes, and track how each document develops.

Alongside this online process, Your Party will host huge regional deliberative meetings where thousands of members come together to listen to each other, break bread and debate the founding documents face to face.

From Shetland to Cornwall, we’ll foster a political culture of healthy discussion and disagreement, enabling thousands to weigh in with their ideas, questions and concerns.

In November, thousands of in-person founding conference delegates will be chosen by lottery to ensure a fair balance of gender, region, and background. These delegates will have a big responsibility – to debate the founding documents, propose amendments and vote on them at the conference."As previously, reading:
"The final decision will be up to all members through an online, secure, one-member-one-vote system.

And we want to go further. We know Your Party can - and must - be even bigger.

Keep an eye on your inbox to get involved in The People Speak, a massive door knocking campaign to ask people what they want from a new party and inviting them to join in.

Timeline at a glance:
September: Membership opens, first draft documents published and regional assemblies start.

October: Assemblies continue, draft documents revised, online vote on party name.

November: Delegates selected, amendments submitted, founding conference takes place.

Finally, if you want to get more active in Your Party and help members take the lead then we need you to help run the regional assemblies."As previously, reading:
"Sign up at the link in our bio to become a facilitator and help ensure we have fun, energising and inclusive conversations at these massive regional assemblies.

We’ll be offering online training in advance.

Reject the drive to war. The rush to cut wages. The clamour to slash services. The attempts to divide us.

Fight for a different future: For your class and your community. This is your chance to be part of something new.

Something different.

In Solidarity,
 Your Party"
