Now on our blog, Chloe B writes about NHS policy and how we can fight back.

Breaking this Doom Spiral: As Far-Right Bloggers Inform NHS Policy, How Do We Begin to Fight Back? By Chloe B
Things are bad for trans people in Britain, and getting worse all the time. A hate movement is rampaging through the institutions, hell-bent on our eradication. Chloe B argues in light of this that now is not the time to shy away from the fight, but to build a movement that can eventually win it.'TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“Soulless, cowardly bureaucrats, who have for years refused to engage with the affected communities on such issues, have handed down another decision which will lead to preventable deaths. This amounts to the murder-by-proxy of transgender people; one further thrust in a genocidal campaign”TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“The deafening silence of Prime Minister Andy Burnham [...] who was previously happy to “stand alongside” trans people as mayor of Manchester, should be raised as a key issue against those who would like to view his premiership as somehow left-wing.”TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral by Chloe B
“In the face of escalating oppression we must escalate our resistance; to resist effectively, an organisation capable of unifying the struggle on a national level is necessary. [...] [P]olitical power for the oppressed is nothing more or less than the result of collective action, co-ordinated by structures that we erect to govern ourselves and direct our efforts.”

TLG is launching its blog. This is a space for members to explore their own ideas and contribute their thoughts on all things trans liberation. Kicking us off is Rosa's thoughts on how to find optimism in struggle.
Alt text: 'TLG Writes On the Need for Material Optimism by Rosa S.
The fight for trans liberation feels hopeless at times but Rosa S argues giving in to this feeling creates a cycle of despair.
Instead, through active involvement in the struggle, you can break this pattern and create a path to victory.
Trans Liberation Group'Alt text: 'The pessimism of many unpoliticised or depoliticised trans people is perfectly valid. But it is yet to be constructive. We can complain about living on “terf island”, retreat within ourselves, withdraw from public life and ultimately submit. Or, you can choose to fight. Alt text: 'There are ways to win and these victories will be driven by us. You can have faith in a leadership figure or an institution, you can hope they do the right thing, but the true force for change exists within ourselves.'

The manner in which the British media have reported the attack, where they have bothered to, has been typically inadequate.'

I was interviewed by The New Arab back at the Your Party Conference last year. This is what I had to say about Palestine: Read the full article here: www.newarab.com/news/jeremy-...
A red, green and white striped image with the text LIZZIE4CEC and a quote from the linked article: "I think Palestine is sort of a cornerstone of the current political climate, not just because of the ongoing genocide, but because it represents a turning point for British imperialism," Bailey tells The New Arab.

"It underlines what your actual values are. So, if people are getting backlash for speaking out against the genocide, and they choose not to speak out, clearly they’re prioritising their personal position over the Palestinian people."

The activist references the Labour Party, which is "clearly taking a position which they obviously know is wrong" but politically serves their interests in British arms and diplomatic ties.

How can you trust someone who says they stand up for human rights, but they don’t stand up for the Palestinians?"

LIZZIE BAILEY SELECTED BY TLG MEMBERS FOR YOUR PARTY’S COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP CEC WELSH SEAT Lizzie Bailey (she/they) has been chosen by TLG members to run for the Welsh seat of Your Party’s Collective Leadership. @lizzie4cec.bsky.social
LIZZIE BAILEY SELECTED BY TLG MEMBERS FOR YOUR PARTY’S COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP CEC WELSH SEAT

Lizzie Bailey (she/they) has been chosen by TLG members to run for the Welsh seat of Your Party’s Collective Leadership.

As part of her union and TLG, Lizzie assisted in the passing of two motions at the Founding Conference, requiring Your Party to commit to trans liberation, and liberation for one is liberation for all.

Lizzie is committed to representing Welsh voices in Your Party, and supporting mass member-led democracy and a party republic.

For media enquiries, please email: lizzie4cec@gmail.com“My name is Lizzie and I am committed to fighting for socialist change, both within Your Party and beyond it. I've been involved in a variety of political groups and have taken on roles such as LGBT+ officer, Women's officer and co-chair of UNISON's national young members group.

I've also been involved in local community organising including Palestinian liberation groups, anti-fascist groups, and educational workshops. I've been learning about politics and social injustice since I was a child, as I wanted to understand why hard working people still faced significant financial issues. I went on to study politics at university for my undergraduate degree and completed a masters in sociology in 2020.

I believe our society has more than enough wealth for us all to live long, healthy and fulfilling lives, but in our current political system all this wealth has been concentrated to a small number of individuals and this needs to change. Your Party can help drive this change, but we need to build a party that is accountable and speaks for ordinary people.

I am committed to building Your Party from the ground up and have taken an active role to help build our local protobranch in Cardiff.

As the CEC representative for Welsh members, I will ensure I represent the grassroots membership and continue working to help build a party that delivers change for the ordinary people that make up our communities and Your Party.”

Against Sections: For Democratic Liberation TLG believes in empowering groups to organise democratically, develop their own consciousness and elevate their membership. No individual can speak for us!
TLG logo (pink white and blue phoenix on a pink star).

Text: Many of the traditional political parties operate by having reserved sections. This is when a group claiming to represent a section of people (LGBTQ+, Disability etc) becomes officially recognised by the party as the organ of that identity group.

Often, these groups have special access to the party leadership, reserved seats on the executive or nominating powers.Text: This causes many issues.

It creates another layer of bureaucracy for minority peoples to navigate to get their voice heard. In many parties, these sections are factionally aligned to the leadership to maintain their access and privileges, which makes them ineffective at speaking up or providing criticism.

In reserved seats, token anointed individuals are treated as a way of signing off on decisions affecting groups, without having to consult them.Text: There is a better way of doing politics, a way that centres democracy and member led liberation.

The aim is not to have a single trans person signing off on decisions; it is to build strong, democratic structures that encourage people to take the lead in their own political development and their liberation. We can build strong, diverse organisers, we can debate strategy, refine our policy and be an exemplar of democracy.Text: We do not need to attach ourselves to specific leaders - allies or not.

We instead show everyone that the power lies with the members and anyone can support us.

Through our empowerment and building each other up within our interrelated struggles, we then become impossible to sideline. Our influence becomes permanent and reliant on no one but ourselves.

Solidarity with the Filton 24! Solidarity with Prisoners for Palestine!
A greyscale background photo of the Filton 24 with blue text over the top, and the Trans Libneration Group logo at the bottom.
Text: Solidarity with the Filton 24! Solidarity with Prisoners for Palestine!Text: The Filton 24 are a group of 24 activists charged with taking direct action against an Elbit Systems factory.

All 24 are being held in prison without trial, with some expecting to face almost two years in prison before their trial. The British government is using counter-terrorism powers to punish people for resisting a genocide.

We are now entering the fourth week of a hunger strike by six prisoners. Text: They are on hunger strike to try and win five demands:

• End all censorship of prisoners
• Immediate bail
• The right to a fair trial
• Deproscribe Palestine Action
• Shut Elbit down

It is the biggest collective hunger strike in the prisons of the British state since the 1981 Irish republicans’ hunger strike in the north of Ireland.Text: In addition, last week the first trial of the Filton 24 started and is due to last 10 weeks.

The Trans Liberation Group would like to express our unconditional solidarity with all of the political prisoners arrested for resisting the genocide in Palestine.

We fully support the cause of Palestinian liberation, which we know is linked to our own struggle for liberation. No one is free until all of us are free

Trans lives do not exist in a vacuum‼️ Here is our explanation of what Trans Liberation is.
Text: What is Trans Liberation? (An explainer...).Text: While our community faces unique oppression because of the fact we are trans, we also suffer disproportionally from the oppressions of other marginalised communities that we belong to, as well as those felt by the working class as a whole.

Trans Liberation recognises that these struggles are interconnected, and can only be solved through working class solidarity that seeks to address the oppression faced by all marginalised communities, like ours, alongside the wider struggle for a Socialist society.Text: Trans lives do not exist in a vacuum!Text: Healthcare is becoming harder to access.

Whether through the government's cruel ban on Puberty Blockers for trans kids, through the targeted deterioration of trans healthcare on the NHS, or the dismantling of the NHS healthcare generally, trans people without financial means to access private healthcare are particularly harmed.

We remember our murdered siblings not only as victims of an unjust world, but as part of a movement of resistance. We hope that our trans and non-binary siblings can take time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we turn those feelings into determination.
Title: TRANS DAY OF REMEMBERANCE
Body: We hope that all of our trans and non-binary siblings can take some time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we will turn those feelings into a determination to make the world a better place.Body: We recognise the 360 known trans and non-binary people who have lost their lives prematurely this year. The true number of those lost is likely to be higher due to underreporting and misrepresentation of trans identity in the media and police reports.

Honouring their memory is not just about mourning but also demanding justice. Systemic failures in healthcare, policing, housing and employment frequently leave trans people vulnerable.Body: 78% of those killed in transphobic hate crimes were trans women of colour. We must be explicitly clear that the intersections of racism, misogyny and transphobia put trans women of colour in the most danger. Trans liberation is impossible without an uncompromising struggle against racism, misogyny, ableism and all other forms of oppression.

Demand 3 - Healthcare that works
Demand number 3: Healthcare that works
- Trans Liberation Group End the discriminatory puberty blocker ban - a young trans person should not have to
undergo the misery of the wrong puberty.

Make HRT a right for all adult people with no legal restrictions, available over the counter on an informed consent basis.

Abolish the GIC system and desegregate trans healthcare - monitoring and referral for specialist treatment should be done by primary care providers.
- Trans Liberation Group Expand the range of gender affirming surgeries accessible on the NHS.

Legally enshrine the right to transition - where a person has Gillick competence there should be no interference with their transition. This includes trans children, who should not require parental consent to transition.

Legally guarantee bodily autonomy for all. A human being should have the ultimate say over what goes on in their own body. This includes a complete decriminalisation of abortion based on the principle “as early as possible, as late as necessary”.
- Trans Liberation Group End all “corrective” surgery on intersex children. Nobody should be subject to medically unnecessary surgery without the capacity to consent.

Fund fertility treatment for all who need it, it should be a legal right and not restricted
by a lack of money.

Expand mental health provision, provide support on demand and for as long as needed, given how disproportionately trans people are affected by poor mental health due to the discrimination we face.

Demand 2 - Reform the broken system.
Demand number 2: Reform the broken system.
- Trans Liberation Group Completely overhaul the Relationship and Sex Education guidance for schools. Children should be aware of all different types of people and their own options. Sex education should be queer and trans inclusive. Gender-critical perspectives should not be taught and trans people should not be framed as a “debate”.

Institute a complete ban on all types of conversion therapy, including trans conversion therapy. Support for people questioning their gender should be affirmative of their desires while giving space for people to explore their feelings.
- Trans Liberation Group Enshrine in UK Law the right to privacy over your assigned gender at birth and trans status, and oppose all attempts to leave the ECHR, which guarantees the right to respect for your private and family life, including confidentiality around your assigned gender at birth under Article 8.

Introduce a new law abolishing all kinds of “trans panic” legal defences. Legally enshrine the right to not have to disclose your assigned gender at birth or trans status to potential sexual partners and reverse all convictions made of trans people on the basis of “deception” for not disclosing their trans status.
- Trans Liberation Group Decriminalise all sex work (which trans people are disproportionately involved in), reversing all criminal and administrative penalties on sex workers. Regulate sex workers’ workplaces through employment law, allowing them to self-organise and form trade unions.

Reverse the cuts to PIP and overhaul the system through a process which puts disabled people at the heart of decision making.

Demand 1 - Legalise trans existence existence
Demand number 1: Legalise Trans ExistenceAmend the Equality Act 2010 to undo the damage caused by the Supreme Court ruling of 16th April 2025 by making it clear “sex” refers to a person's current lived sex and adding gender identity as a protected characteristic. Ensure that “gender-critical” beliefs cannot be treated as protected beliefs.

Enshrine the right to self-identification of gender, including non-binary gender, for all purposes.Abolish gender markers from official documentation such as passports.

Reject plans for the introduction of ID cards as an authoritarian imposition that will be disproportionately used to police and harass trans people, migrants, and people of colour.

Scrap the Equality and Human Rights Commission - it is broken and not fit for purpose and should be replaced with an equalities body that actually protects human rights.

Over the next few days we will be posting our demands into 4 overarching demands/group Today Demand 0 - A party for everyone
Demand Number zero: A Party For Everyone.Require all elected party representatives to be bound by the programme democratically agreed by the membership, which will have trans liberation at its core.

Ensure that elected representatives are held accountable to the membership and censure and remove any representatives who break from this programme (including promoting transphobic bigotry or discrimination).Create a transparent disciplinary process for all members to prevent bigotry and discrimination, overseen by a democratically-elected committee including representation for trans people. This should be guided by the principles of transformative justice, with efforts to resolve issues through mediation and education where possible.

We are the Trans Liberation Group and we are fighting for a foundation of trans liberation in Your Party, in its current and future iterations.
Founding Statement:
The situation for trans people in Britain is critical. We face a barrage of billionaire bankrolled abuse in the media. We endure decades long waiting lists to access limited healthcare, with dehumanisation and pathologisation built in to the system.

In the job market, we are met with discrimination, lack of opportunity and stagnating pay. We are excluded from housing, healthcare, employment, leisure - now even our use of bathrooms is policed.
 - Trans Liberation GroupSomething must change.
- Trans Liberation GroupFounding Statement:
For trans people, today’s politics is exhausting. The major political parties have used and discarded us time and time again. Too often, exclusionary figures are embedded in leadership capacities, and even in progressive parties, those on the fringes can spew hatred unchallenged.

We say no more. This cannot happen in Your Party. The liberation of all marginalised people can only be achieved through their active and equal participation in class struggle; there can only be a precarious freedom for some under current conditions.
- Trans Liberation Groupounding Statement:
We are the Trans Liberation Group and we are fighting to ensure Your Party, in its current and future iterations, explicitly advocates for trans liberation, and encourages the political participation of trans people.

We know there are prominent figures who have been platformed under the banner of Your Party who hold regressive, misinformed and dangerous views on trans people. We are here to show them that this is our party, and we will fight tooth and nail to prevent this oppressive
politics from taking root.
