The Laid-Off enchanter anime is a bit rough, but I appreciate that it's a comedy rather than some revenge plot. It's quite silly and everyone is quite dumb. It's pretty rough visually. I do love the backgrounds though.

Trying to find interesting builds for Last Epoch to see if I've missed anything neat this season... but every Youtube thumbnail looks the same. It's just so much genAI slop. You couldn't convince me that these are different content creators.

Quick bit of anime reviews as this new season kicks off. Overgeared: First ep is a bit weak. Second episode at least has me interested. It's a story about a VRMMO that seems to be written by someone who doesn't play games. I'm doubting that I see this one through to the end.

I saw a game trailer that was about how the game was made as a pursuit of a dream, specifically to inspire their children to follow theirs... but then the AI disclosure pretty makes it pretty clear they did most of it with genAI. It's not about the journey, it's about the destination. what.

I feel like Monster Sanctuary and Ultros deserve more recognition in the "Metroidvania" space. They're both games that do things quite differently. Monster Sanctuary does RPG battles. Ultros is an entirely unique experience.

Having finished reading Yugioh, I started on GX... it's not good (so far). It's just people playing the retail card game. The original series was basically people playing a tabletop RPG with cards. Like, a character could do anything as long as there was a logic to it.

Turns out Steam has a limit on how many Developers/Publishers you can ignore. I'd been hitting ignore on every developer with genAI products whenever I'd stumble across them. The popup says curator, but these don't actually show up under the ignored curators page.

The sequence at the end of the tutorial in FF Resonance is gorgeous. Games out there chasing photorealism and this HD-2D thing is one of the most mind blowing things I've seen. I might stop playing there just to savour it more at release.

I started watching Shangri-La Frontier and it's actually good? The MC is kinda boring and so far it's solo MMO stuff with a boring class... But it really invokes the memories of old Everquest and FFXI and that whole dream of what MMOs could have been.

I'm playing Sovereign Tower and it's fun. I'm actually hoping that there's a whole plot twist where you're not some ruler and it's actually a Truman Show situation. You can't leave the tower, so it'd be funny if you're just being fed stories with no way to verify them.
