#ticketstubwed 29 years ago, Oasis in what felt like a cattle shed (site was used for agriculture shows and had holding pens). The stage featured designs from the Be Here Now cover. This was the first of 4 gigs I saw them for this tour. £17.50, pre-surge pricing, or £35.80 inflation adjusted.

#ticketstubwed Had to be Oasis. 30 years ago it was Knebworth. Forget the hype, Oasis were bang average. The crowd had changed from the early gigs. The Prodigy were good though if that helps. Manics and the Chemical’s stole the day for me.

#ticketstubwed 31 years ago today at the old Wembley, Rolling Stones for the Voodoo Lounge Tour. The overriding memory I had was the inflatables suddenly appearing over the stage set for Sympathy for the Devil.

London outdoor gigs are really suffering with tickets sales this year. Was at Wolf Alice at the weekend and the Maccabees tonight, neither sold out. Are we seeing just over saturation of outdoor gigs in the capital or has the cost of gigs just reached a tipping point?

#ticketstubwed Anniversary week for these 2 gigs. It was wet. By the 2nd the Finsbury Park was like a swamp. Oasis were awful, not helped by the weather. By the 2nd night we walked out halfway through. The support acts were brilliant though, especially The Charlatans.

Why is it that the opening salvo of any racist rant or comment often starts with “I’m not a racist but…”. Why do people think I want to hear this crap as well? Here’s something for you, what you’re saying is racist and that makes you a racist.

#TicketStubWed Been away so haven’t had one for a few weeks. Let’s do this though, The Stone Roses at Heaton Park, 14 years ago. We were so far back but it still felt like we were down the front. Amazing atmosphere, stunning gig from a band I missed the first time around.

#TicketStubWed @thecharlatans.bsky.social & Friends - A Night for Jon Brookes. Those not familiar with The Charlatans, Jon was their drummer who sadly passed away from a brain tumour. A generational talent and all round wonderful person. This night for him was truly deserved. 1/2

#TicketStubWed U2 at Wembley Stadium for the Pop Mart tour. Notable for the band coming out of a giant lemon and the huge screen. Memorable for me for another appearance for @longpigsband.bsky.social as support.

#ticketstubwed Let’s pick apart Bruce Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling 2012. Firstly, gigs in Hyde Park are notoriously quiet and Springsteen concerts overrun. He pulled out Macca for Twist & Shout. It was insane… and they cut the sound before 10th Ave, with the tribute to Clarence Clemons 🙁

#ticketstubwed #bringbackticketstubs Going to do 2 posts today. The first one is for Kasabian @ Swindon Oasis Leisure Centre. The smell of chlorine and the bass just hit us. However, this is a world without Ticket Stubs. I have nothing but my memories for this. Can we bring them back please?

#ticketstubwed A bit of indulgence for my son. 3 years ago we were at Pub in the Park for one thing, to see him on the main stage with Baby Teeth. A day that started with a boat across the Thames with all the great onboard. He returns there Friday with his new band Furne.

What I would pay to see one last gig from these guys. The band that always got away from me so I only ended up seeing them once! Had tickets on 4 occasions.

#TicketStubWed @suedehq.bsky.social released Head Music on the 3rd May 1999, saw them perform tracks from it as part of the MTV Five Night Stand series on the 9th May. One of my overriding memories of this gig was how loud it was in there. Up there with my most seen bands.

#TicketStubWed One for @britpopmemories.bsky.social this week. Where did those 30 years go! Oasis at Maine Road, with OCS and MSP supporting. A gig, a sing along and still up there with my favourites. My mate collapsed, wet lost our car and all for just £17.50.

The solution to this is always scrape the money together and buy another. I gave my son my Fender Strat though for his 21st, he’s played so many gigs with it.

#TicketStubWed One from 2002 this week. The first time Isle of Wight Festival after the ban on numbers on the island. I went there for @thecharlatans.bsky.social mainly. Caught early The Coral though as well. One day only as well.

#TicketStubWed Didn’t know which way to go with this weeks ticket. Decided it was time for a bit of @billybragg.bsky.social. The gig that resulted in a hairline fracture in my leg as well. Everybody should see Billy at least once in their life though.

#TicketStubWed Not very often you can put up a recent ticket due to the lack of them now. Sunday, Wolf Alice at the RAH for the TCT gigs. The memory of Last Man on Earth with the hall organ will live with me forever. Bring back ticket stubs!!!

Things I didn’t have on my Wolf Alice gig bingo card tonight. Opening with Heavenward, playing Swallowtail for the first time since 2016. The biggest though was Last Man on Earth with the RAH organ! Don’t normally do lots of videos at gigs, but just had to for this one.

#TicketStubWed I braved getting down the front for this - last time I did that at a Supergrass gig was in 1994 - I didn’t last very long! They played at 100 miles a minute back then 😂. I remember they opened with Moving - still required jumping up and down at the chorus, but not as crazy as in 94 😂

Great news that the Greens defeated both Labour and Reform last night, but now the word 'sectarianism' is being used to demonise Muslim voters who supported the Greens. Labour rightly took a strong stand against antisemitism - will they do the same against Islamophobia?
