We saw an early access screening of Coyote vs. Acme just now and it was excellent! Big thanks and kudos to everyone involved in making this movie, releasing it to the public, and overcoming the clusterfuck WB put you in! Catch it before they try to cancel it again! ^_^ #coyotevsacme #coyote #coyotes

I’m impressed they’re able to fit 7 structures on a 1/3 acre spot, BUT their sketch definitely oversells the actual spaciousness. At a several M price point, if any vacant or teardown property is available, get that and add 50-100k tiny houses or structures at leisure and save millions!

Sorry to burst the bubble here, but calling any property on less than a 1/3 acre a freaking “compound” is quite a stretch. But I guess that’s CA “acreage” 🤣

And to add to the WTF, that’s actually a song about two people trying to cheat on each other, but accidentally hooking up instead 😂

Not yet at least, as it’s year 3 of the PE firm’s supposed 4-5 year plan. I do know that their legacy customers have been churning in droves, their innovation, and product development slowed dramatically, most competent staff left & their competitors have taken full advantage of their many fumbles.

While EA’s PE acquisition is the latest in the saga, I got to experience PE shenanigans at my last org. The result from that endeavor alone was (at last count) 6 companies acquired and shuttered, 7 products sunset, and thousands of paying customers left to die on the vine along with all their work!

My perspective is that of a consumer/end user, and the users almost always get screwed in these situations. PE firms are much more akin to flippers vs. builders, as their primary goal is to extract as much value for their investors before they sell and then move on to their next conquest.

Given the margin of error, statistically speaking, there must be a situation where a private equity acquisition has actually made a product or service better for its consumers. That said, I can’t recall a single instance where this has occurred in my lifetime, just a graveyard of failures.

The big 40 (weeks). Ransom did lots of water fetch, lots of beating up the herding ball, and lots of running around the property off leash. Also took a ride on his first non-inflatable boat.

IMHO being too high to leave home is really the only viable reason for using DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.

Superman was fun :3 James Gunn just knows how to make entertaining movies that don’t take themselves too seriously. If this how the rebooted DCU is gonna be moving forward, it looks infinitely better than the previous slop.

Welcome to the club unfortunately, as I also have EDS. If you’re not already doing so, I’d highly recommend beginning resistance/strength training, especially to strengthen stabilizing muscles. I’d also highly recommending identifying and reducing foods that might introduce unnecessary inflammation.

TIL that Robert E. Howard’s first Kull of Atlantis short story “The Shadow Kingdom” in 1929 not only basically started the modern sword & sorcery genre of fiction, but it also incidentally sparked the ridiculous Lizard People conspiracy theory that persists to today! 🤣 🐍🤦

I didn’t cut all the way through, just grooves & places to put a few splitting wedges to create cracks & gaps. I’ve ruined many a chain in the past, so I avoid using them on duffy stuff until the blades dull. Our only long drillbit has a dedicated use, but a hot fire under & around will engulf it :3

I was quite surprised how quick he picked up both that scent and the “find” game in general. It was only like 5-10 minutes y’all were doing that before I tried it myself to verify 👍

I put a few grooves in it with a chainsaw and dug it out much further than this video shows so it’s exposed on all sides and remove the underside rock layer. I might put a splitting wedge or two in it before I light it up to increase the airflow.

I view it more as most coyotes historically existed in a product-selection desert and Acme was basically the only shop in town, so they cornered the Coyote market. Coyotes, don’t give into BS traditions, demand better quality products! Acme can fuck right off with its Amazon Basics-assed crap :P

Next weekend I get a chance to do something rather unique, which I oddly find exciting. I’ve dug up, cracked out, or otherwise removed dozens of tree stumps in my life. Similarly, I’ve made dozens of bonfires. However, never have I ever burned a stump out from under itself in place. Gonna be fun! :3

The reason I have an Acme poster in the backdrop of my home office is that I’ve been told multiple times I have the uncanny ability to make virtually any product appear to be made by Acme when I use or evaluate it. I apparently can break almost anything! :P

For those that don’t know, Riley was the border collie we raised from a puppy, and Tay was his littermate that by a lucky happenstance we adopted a couple years later. They lived long and happy lives. If weren’t for them, we’d of never gotten our homestead back in 2016, or adopted Ransom either :’)

I invest, but I give absolutely no fucks about the day to fluctuations as they’re just noise. Investing is for the long-term, not speculating on the outrage of the day. Nevertheless I strongly believe in having a backup plan for when I’m old, as I’m not depending on any company or government caring!

TIL that we’ve technically been using the expression “drank the Kool-Aid” wrong, as actually a cheaper knockoff called “Flavor Aid” was actually used at Jonestown. However, that said, the real Kool-Aid (laced with LSD) was indeed used in the Acid Tests by the Merry Pranksters and others in the 60s!

They’re alright, but I can’t say they’d make it on my playlists these days. I don’t know how I’d exactly quantify what resonates strongly with me, but it tends to be instrumentally-driven, upbeat, and kinda ethereal in nature. Beach House, STRFKR, and TV on the Radio are good examples :3

I’ve had to use both simultaneously in previous jobs and they both have Pros and Cons. IMO Slack is better for just chatting and is a bit more fun with custom emojis and such, but Teams is much better for meetings and notetaking with better rich text editing and inline images (Slack sucks for these)

Ha, the background of this photo of Ransom from this weekend looks pretty fake, but it was just the over-the-top decor at the cabin we stayed at with friends. I honestly wonder if anyone under 60 actually owns a globe these days, and if so, if they’ve actually ever used it :P
