Quick shoutout to @fybe-art.bsky.social, an anti-AI, anti-dropshipping, and anti-capitalist pro-profit sharing art marketplace platform that's launching over the next couple months. All vendors are manually approved by a human team to ensure that AI doesn't make it onto the platform.

Anyway, I now have a couple of CSVs driving my data and I'm able to generate a valid Archipelago world, more or less. Back to my happy place (C#) to figure out BattleTech's save/load system next.

Even perl will fail on startup if you mix up scalar/array/hash types and syntax. And it has an option to run a single file through a syntax checker without requiring you to wait for the entire program to start up and dynamically load the one part you're working on.

I wrote a bunch of python for the server side of my BattleTech Archipelago integration and people really make whole-ass websites in this language? Type annotations are just suggestions to the human reading the code? No wonder you need to write so many tests. I miss static_assert already.

I don't watch Star Trek because it's a variety show. I want sci-fi, thinly veiled metaphors, hopefulness for the future, and competency porn!

Mike Feldman @yoshimcf.mike-feldman.com · 05/08/2026

SNW can be decent when they stick to normal Star Trek stories, but they're either genre hopping or playing into that weird predetermined destiny theme more often than not.

9. 1000xResist Walking simulator about generational trauma in a sci-fi world. I'm not sure if I can say I enjoyed it, but that wasn't really the point of it. It told an interesting story in ways that I don't think other mediums could pull off. I'm glad I played it.

It's worth saying, I'm still looking for work! Game Design and Technical Art ideally, but I'm a strong generalist. I've made plenty of tools, shaders, and game systems that are great force multipliers for small dev teams. I won't touch an LLM, so as long as that's not your poison, hit my line!

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

A pride flag with every color band represented by a NASA image. White is Earth clouds, pink is aurora, blue is the Sun in a specific wavelength, brown is Jupiter clouds, black is the Hubble deep field, red is the top of sprites, orange is a Mars crater, yellow is the surface of Io, green is a lake with algae, blue is Neptune, and purple is the Crab Nebula in a specific wavelength.

Steam page for Burgle Supply Company, which is probably the best game about robbing homes while mutant dogs chase you around ever made but I cant verify that.
