Is the vampire in Avenging Spirit dressed like a super hero under his cape with his undies over his tights, or is he just wearing underwear and nothing else?

We know none of the characters in Avenging Spirit have names, but we think it's pretty funny that the person you are trying to save who is referenced in almost every cutscene also doesn't get a name.

They kidnapped my daughter and held her for ransom in order to get information about my research on ghost energy.

We know that they changed a lot of things about video games when they brought them over from Japan to the states, but who decided on this cover art for Avenging Spirit? And why! I mean, it's not terrible, it just has a 100% different vibe than the game itself.

A lil ghost surrounded by the character you can possess.

Always bewildered by these guys in Adventures of Star Saver. First there is just one. After you shoot it, it becomes three. Then those three turn to three crawling fists?

Heads up! If and when you get to this final boss you are going to absolutely hate it. Once you figure out their pattern the apey jerk is easier than the last couple of bosses.

I played the Adventures of Star Saver on an Analogue Pocket. For some reason it didn't play the higher pitched melody on the soundtrack. I had no idea it was there until I watched game play footage online. -RV fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/g...

The Adventures of Star Saver is kind of a weird game with lots of gotcha deaths, but aside from some tricky boss patterns, it's fairly basic and not too tough. I still found it strangely compelling and worth spending some time with it. #JustBeatIt

The Adventures of Star Saver had an Non-North American sequel. In Japan it was just called "Rubble Saver II" (It's original name) and for some reason in the European countries, it was treated as a standalone game called "Max", featuring a goofy looking kid in a flying space suit.

The bosses in Star Saver can be tricky. But we've read several accounts online about a secret area in Stage 7 and how the boss is unbeatable. We had no problem beating this boss on the first try. Has anybody else had trouble or know about the secret area?

@yokoikids.bsky.social i beat Star Saver while only using save states on the bosses. Once you figure out the boss patterns, it’s very easy. Grueling but easy.

The mech suit in The Adventures in Star Saver is named Tom Wolf. Which is a great addition to 8-bit cool guys named Tom whose last name makes them sound like a small claims court lawyer.

The cool-guy writing on this ad is very silly. "Can't move. Can't get dirty. Can't get comfortable. Cant have any fun. Can't, can't can't!"

Jettison to the Planets
The Adventures of Star Saver
-Reach for the Stars
-Baffling Bungy Jumping
-Rockin' Robot Power
-Mega Metal Madness

Has your Mom or Dad ever made you dress up in a suit? It's a total drag. You can't play. Can't move. Can't get dirty. Can't get comfortable. Can't have any fun. Can't, can't, can't! Well, you can change all of that. Try stepping into the Tom Wolf robot suit.

This thing can do some amazing stuff. It has an intense blaster gun that can rapid-fire triple shots if you're on the lookout for charge-up items. You can grab a jet-pack and jolt those nasty aliens from the air. You even become faster in this super suit. The most radical thing, however, is its incredible bungy cord like ropes. These super rubber-bands can pull you out of some tight squeezes. You only get a few of them though, so, don't stretch your luck!

Oh, by the way, you need to use this suit to save your girlfriend and the planet against this alien invasion. But, when you're havin' this much fun, that's just part of the game.

In the Japanese version of Star Saver (Rubble Saver) you play as Connie instead of Kevin. Imagine putting in that work to convert it just so a dumb-ass eight year old wouldn't go "Woah, robots! Eewwww, a girl!? No thanks, I'll get Metroid II instead."

@yokoikids.bsky.social - I don't always post about it, but every month I try to play the games even if it's not in the same month. Operation C is great, and it's impressive how well Konami managed to fit Contra music and gameplay into a Gameboy cartridge.

It's cool that most of the bosses in Radical Rescue are from the original TMNT toy line. Scratch appears in the game and is one of the most sought out action figures out there. Even though he is one of the lamer looking figures (next to Hot Spot).

We haven't "officially" posted about what game we are doing for August. But you can play it on this newer TMNT Cowabunga Collection and it's def recommended to play it on this. Or a rom you can use state saves on.
