As it takes awhile to get to temp, it also seems a good idea to leave the system on constantly and let the thermostat control the temp rather than switching on/off. One thing I found with air to air is that it’s great for cooling a room or two during a heatwave.

Having talked to them both, I think the takeaway is that you might need bigger radiators to increase the surface area as the warmth is built up as the heat pump draws warmth from the atmosphere like a reverse fridge.

Mostly because of the comparatively high cost of electricity compared to gas. I have family in Norway who use air to air as a heating source, it does work in cold conditions. Two UK friends have air to water, where the HP warms a tank that supplies radiators and domestic hot water.

I’ve got a similar system to the one you’ve referenced. Air to air, I find it useful for heating and cooling individual rooms, though in my experience it would cost more to heat a house when comparing it with a combi-boiler fed CH system.
