Pleased to have been part of @yhacs.bsky.social quarterly get together in #Hull this weekend. Fascinating historical tour this morning, then a well-attended meeting at the home of William Wilberforce. ‘England owes to him the reformation of manners; the world owes him the abolition of slavery.

We welcome the fact North Yorkshire’s Enforcement Officer will be visiting Bramcote Tennis Pavilion, Scarborough shortly and will discuss the condition of the building with those responsible. It's one of the few 🌍 remaining tennis pavilions remaining from the first days of the sport. bit.ly/3Q3yqRZ

Our response to the Arts Everywhere Fund: We warmly welcome yesterday's announcement of additional Government funding for culture and heritage, access to which makes us a healthier, happier and richer nation. This is a step in the right direction, and we hope it is the first of many.

There can't be many other streets with as many listed buildings as 'The Mount' in York. The architecture is mainly from the early to mid nineteenth century. The street though has been or very near the main route running south and west from York from Roman times onwards.
