Reform are in trouble for trying to ban election material in Cornish. They’re claiming it’s all a lie as they “wouldn’t ban any British language”. But here’s the amendment - which says only English or Welsh is allowed. It doesn’t mention Cornish anywhere. Reform are the liars.

Cornish MPs have called on Historic England to ensure that its Cornish sites reflect Cornwall’s national history and status. They say Cornwall’s heritage is not “a subset of English history”. Even better would be to call for all Cornish heritage sites to be run from Cornwall.

Of course unelected business leaders care about money, but it’s still disappointing to see such short-sightedness. Cornwall-only devolution could lead in the future to permanent Wales-style funding and control. With a Devonwall Mayor, we will have no voice and our cash will go to Devon.

Cornwall's right to devolution comes from our national minority status, but if anyone suggests Cornwall is too small, tell them to buy an atlas. Other countries have areas of a similar size to Cornwall, with their own parliaments or assemblies and wide-ranging devolved powers.
