The first paper by my student @dezhijin.bsky.social is finally published. Brain regions contribute differently to the framewise co-fluctuation stratified by the global co-fluct amplitude. These amplitude-dependent spatial patterns are hierarchically aligned with SA axis. Thanks to our coauthors!

Human cortex organizes dynamic co-fluctuations along the sensorimotor-association axis - Nature Communications
This study reveals that amplitude-stratified co-fluctuations in brain activity transit from sensorimotor to association dominance. These patterns matured between childhood to adulthood and reconfigure...

We've known that socioeconomics (SES) matters for the 🧠. New & 🤯 is that SES drowns out all other brain associations, incl. IQ. If you train an algorithm to predict IQ from brain data, it's still way better at predicting SES. Science Mag: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... @smarek0502.bsky.social 👀🧵👇
