People from all walks of life support DC Comics, its time for DC to do the right thing once and for all. Representation matters, everyone should be able to pick up a DC comic and see themselves illustrated in those pages. c.org/qL6k944hFQ

Imagine investing in a story that started with an inter-galactic alliance in political turmoil and ended with an inter-planetary conflict that spawn many plot threads across the universe. Then imagine all of it to get canceled or ignored less than a year later...

If you liked New Gods by Ram V & Evan Cagle, check the preview for their next series. It's about a future dystopian society built on dark secrets and a group of revolutionaries came together to disrupt the system and return the world to what it used to be. Or something like that... It looks amazing!

"Race has always been a fiction, and thus, so have blackness and whiteness. How do you unmake the harmful stories of race and 'diference'? By making our own" -words shared in Bitter Root vol.1 "Family Business" by John Jennings in "Deep Roots/Rich Soil: race, horror and the ethnogotic"

Batwoman #2 Review (★★★★½) by YEARofTheCollector

You have to give it up for Kate Kane. I just know she must've been a theater kid growing up. Cause the light, the grenade, the handgun? All of this is a blend of theatrics, drama and unhinged violence...

However, Kelly Thompson's dialogue has evolved to a point where she voices individual characters with their respective attributes. Whether they are baddies or goodies, you are compelled to care for their joy or their sorrows. Very powerful writing abilities.

100

Yancy @yearofthecollector.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Likewise, I would say Kelly's dialogue has improved significantly as well. Not saying Thompson wrote bad dialogue, because here's an example of a scene with tension build only on dialogue. Clearly it works.

Yancy @yearofthecollector.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Not necessarily a bad thing, this is the best way to show how far he's come in just six years. I would say Mattia has developed his attention to detail, depth and textures in significant increments since this project. Here's an example of his most recent work from Absolute Wonder Woman

Yancy @yearofthecollector.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Kelly Thompson was cooking in 2018, to no one's surprise. However, Mattia De Iulis' work is a couple of notches below in quality compared to where he is at currently.
