Yaron J. Balslev @yaronbalslev.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Thank you UNFICYP for allowing me to enter the UN buffer zone of Nicosia! I found clear evidence of the old Nicosia dumpsite and compost plant, which operated during British rule in Cyprus. The findings will be part of the exhibition Waste on the Island, WIP Festival, CYENS Nicosia, October '26. 000

Yaron J. Balslev @yaronbalslev.bsky.social · 06/09/2025An hour before take-off towards the AIS conferece, Norwegian canceled the flight. Yaron J. Balslev @yaronbalslev.bsky.social · 14/05/2025Today I had my first talk on Cyprus' waste history. The best thing was that it was in Cyprus! It was a good panel, followed by a long discussion. It feels good to see how long days of collecting and reading archival documents turn into a historical story that is new to a Cypriot audience. 110
