Mm: tragic. Not too nightmare-inducing for me outside of the medical horror, which is nice Glad I watched it; I've been by those stairs!

010

(and I liked the call back to his pugilistic tendencies. Ohhhhhhh, that's what the priest in Wake Up Dead Man is supposed to be kind of a version of the template)

Green goo? Great. Characters were all really full with different motivations in all this (I think the younger maid put the cross there). I liked that ending a lot; it was very..."demanding an angel wrestle you" biblical, in a way that has no easy answer

AaaAAAUGHHHH: I very much enjoyed that. What an ending; I was not expecting

I am at this part now, and I am IN come save the girl, sad priest

A homicide detective and a priest in sweatpants with a towel around his neck are discussing something. The camera is peering at them through a chain link fence.
A subtitle at the bottom says "facing backwards," referring to a man found dead with his head twisted fully around.

The doctor casually lighting up a cigarette in the hospital is HILARIOUS But, dear god, the medical scenes

Looks like theatrical. The version on HBO max

I am watching The Exorcist (70s movie) for the very first time and I *did* just point at the tv and go "that's the theme music!!!"

-I put the *exact* right amount of the "sometimes a little too spicy" pepper on my dinner tonight. It was delicious

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

I did NOT sleep enough but it was worth it If you've ever thought about ruining a paladin: yes. (I read the new Astarion book. *Will* be rereading)

*aaaaaaaaaaa* (I finished it. Is very good. The first 50ish pages are the roughest horror bits (mind the content warning), and then there is betrayal and oaths and sumptuous fabric descriptions and the BAT SCRITCHES and a truly *very* heart wrenching sex scene and enduring I enjoyed it quite a lot)

010

(I will get lost on the map and have to backtrack three times to find the right turn)

010

compared to both Hollow Knight and BG3 (which I *wanted* to like; I love the idea, the art is pretty, and the story is neat, in both) but in Hollow Knight, I kept getting stuck (I used invincibility mods; still stuck. I can't do the rhythm/bouncing platform parts). And BG3 is too BIG

210

option works really well and doesn't remove the feeling of accomplishment beating something (but now I actually can) and, on just a basic level, I can figure out what I'm doing and how to do it in Hades or Hades II;

mm: convergence of things! I like the repetitiveness of the gameplay (it's chill; I can pick it up and play a round for an hour, and then come back later). The story is good but linear (I have trouble keeping track of something too big or open-world). The art/music are pretty. The difficulty mode

It turns out the Hades style of game is 100% my jam; definitely my most-played videogames

Ah, the second one's even better!

ooh, it is TIME (boots up Hades II again)

idk, it all worked. I love that feeling. and now I have all sorts of ideas for the next arcs, and *player character stuff* is happening, and it's all Quite Fun, YAY

anyway tonight the alchemy of a skeletal framework + the improve worked family? real estate sharks. NPC from family? weedy accountant fighter? professional. Goal: help girlfriend vampire: *theatre kid* stir, mix

skeletal as it may be this is especially something I want to get better at with NPCs, 'cause I enjoy when my GMs give juicy NPCs! That's quite fun! but, how, me, how to do? you get the question?

I am an improv GM, in that, 60% of the time, I have no plan, or only a vague plan, and therefore some things are getting put together As They Kinda Happen, which....sometimes works, but is also terrifying, and I *like* actually having sort of a framework

RUNNING GAMES. Is. FUN (twirls off in a dramatic cape)

This has been: way too chipper morning thoughts

030

Also remember that tired-you can maybe do one, maybe two things, tops. So let tired-you be kinda lazy)

020

(favorite recent one: the Ologies podcast recently had one on sleep avoidance. Legitimately: very helpful. Main takeaway for me: don't make tired-you make decisions. Tired-you will probably make bad decisions! Make the decisions before tired-you has to

I like routines; I like this process of getting back into mine, 'cause I'm reminded of the bits I really really like, and I can feel the parts I don't like very much at all. And that's interesting (also I have all these podcast episodes to catch up on! Which is great for chore-time)

also (this is important) I just set up a damn phone timer so remembering when the laundry is done is one less thing to think about All these things, somehow, work wonderfully for me, for now. And also it's 8am and I've gotten So Much Done! That feels great
