I am at this part now, and I am IN come save the girl, sad priest
A homicide detective and a priest in sweatpants with a towel around his neck are discussing something. The camera is peering at them through a chain link fence.
A subtitle at the bottom says "facing backwards," referring to a man found dead with his head twisted fully around.

I saw a pond full of tadpoles this weekend and ate much tasty food and found a plastic skull at a garage sale so it was pretty good
Tadpoles swim in a dark water pond lit by a bright summer sun. It looks kind of like the Milky Way.

My feet are very tired, but I got to go see a bunch of big boats today, and wander around a graveyard So, an excellent day, really

The two blank faded blocks become less important; the binding being frayed in spots reminds me that I want to care for this thing she made
The same quilt, laid out flat across the floor. It is made up of twelve big tshirt blocks, two or three of which have faded to pale blankness. Behind the blocks are interlocking frames over a dark background.

It was a neat idea; I really liked it
A tshirt quilt of blues and bright tropical colors is draped messily over the back of a couch. It's hard to see what images are on the tshirts, but it's fish, whales, and dolphins.

Things making me happy today: NEWT!!! Turtle with a mustache!! The extremely excellent names the nature center staff have given all of these cute critters: the newt is named Fig; the turtle is Mabel
The head of a red-spotted newt is visible peeking through a gap on green leaves. In the foreground, there is a yellow button for enrichment.

I read 24 books this year! (I don't typically log rereads, which I enjoy doing a fair bit when I'm stressed, so there's probably other books in there! And I don't typically track if I start a book and pause it/switch to something else)
A graph of books and pages read per month in 2025. The line dips and leaps wildly, with the most books (4) read in May, and a small drought of reading in July and August.

I saw The Muppet Christmas Carol for the first time this year: alright, that's pretty fun But now it is time for MY favorite holiday tradition: The X-Files
A picture of a TV screen. On it is the opening scene to Season 6, Episode 6 of The X-Files: How the Ghosts Stole Christmas. There is a large old house dramatically lit with low rolling fog. In the lower left, it is captioned "Christmas Eve, Somewhere in Maryland."

Art vs. Artist I felt like I didn't do any drawing this year, so it's kinda cool to see what I did!! #ArtVsArtist
A collage of digital art: an elf riding a war-moose, a wizard surrounded by strange floating masks, two men recreating a very gorey Ghost scene, a neon mushroom landscape, and a vampire holding a snake like a feather boa, her smile dripping with blood. My picture is in the bottommost right!

Fresh-baked English muffins on a cooling rack. Some of them are a bit oblong and imperfect, but that is okay bc they look warm and pillowy.

As is often the case, I think the sketch was better. But I liked how the colors turned out
Sketches of parts of this scene: one man looks to the side with concern, the other has his eyes closed in calm and joy. Two sets of hands overlapping.

Alright, buckle in; D&D storytime. So: there's a Hot Priest in our game who, it turns out, is also mega-rich, but the really important thing about him is that he is a priest of a god who can best be described as: imagine a fucked-up deer in the forest. Now shoot it. Now cut open its guts and smile,
A digital painting: two men glance at each other while tenderly holding a ball of bloody guts together. In the background is a screenshot of the moment in Ghost with the pottery wheel.

it's been ages since I drew anything new, but I've been having Ideas again, so: have an old drawing :) my new wizard, Sam IV
A digital painting by me, of a changeling with three masks of indistinct faces hovering around eir head. E clutches simple weaving tools with the workings of a spell in bright blue magic on it. E is dressed in long pale tunic, brown trousers, and a purple shawl, in vaguely Greco-Roman style.

DONE! Designed and made by me 😁 off of Alice Starmore's instructions, and help from a friend writing that central fish cable This took me 5 years, several moves, and a lot of cursing like a sailor, but I'm quite proud of how it turned out I'm so excited to send it off to its recipient now 😊
An Aran fisherman's sweater, oatmeal colored and warm, hangs on a coat hanger.Folded up, the same sweater. Details of a braided cable are visible.

Four panels of an intricate cabled fisherman's sweater are laid out on a carpet. There are patterns of braided rope and skeletal fish in the panels.

my D&D group had to travel through a demonically-fueled mushroom forest. I wanted to draw it:
a bookmark with digital drawing in psychedelic inks, yellows, greens, reds, and dark blues. Spore dots, shelf fungi, and translucent mushroom caps lurk in little crevices.

Hello, and welcome to my favorite boat movie: Master and Commander
A TV screen: over the blue sea and the silhouette of a ship is white text: Admiralty Orders, to Capt. J. Aubrey. "Intercept French Privateer Acheron en route to Pacific intent on carrying the was into those waters... Sink, Burn or take her a Prize."

Not ominous at all
A trail through a sunlit forest. There are two small traffic cones set up, right in the middle of the path, with a sign saying "Caution: active wasp nest." Hanging from a low tree branch exactly in the middle of this is, indeed, a very large paper wasp hive.

My friend really liked a puffer vest that looked like a ribcage; I'm attempting to hack a pattern and make one for her Pretty pleased? It looks like the thing!!
Tracing paper patterns for a sleeveless vest are laid out on the floor. A pencil and ruled cutting mat have been used to draw a basic ribcage shape over them.

A thing making me happy today is: new book to read! (I reallllly really love her second book, Vampires of El Norte, which is a perfect blend of childhood friends-to-enemies-to-lovers and a road-trip horror) This one sounds like it will be more classic Creepy House/Weak Man horror
The Hacienda, by Isabel Cañas. A dark-haired woman in a red dress stands amongst yucca leaves in front of a red sky and a decrepit-looking stone house and tower. The vibes are Gothic.

I also think it'd work maybe with this (nested game-within-a-game perhaps?), which is a really short ruleset I've always wanted to try
Cover for The Play's The Thing, by Mark Truman of Magpie Games. A game of Shakespearean playwrights and actors. A skeleton holds the severed head of an Elizabethan gentleman.Back cover of the book: The Play's The Thing is a storytelling game about actors who want to rewrite the Shakespearean roles they've been given. You and your friends tell the story of an acting troupe that is scheduled to perform a new okay, but has a lot of disagreement about how that okay would go. While the Playwright might present you with a classic Shakespearean folio, you'll use your imagination and wit to craft new events and excitement in old stories. Imagine: if Ophelia never drowned...and killed Claudius herself. If Romeo never died...but fell in love with Mercutio. If Othello figured out that Iago was to blame...or secretly plotted to kill him first. In The Play's The Thing, one player takes on the role of Playwright, the writer and director of the Play, and the rest of you portray Actors (Hams, Leads, Villains, and Ingénues) who are best in roles. As you work your way through the Acts of the Play, you'll suggest changes that the Playwright has to incorporate into the work, making The Bard's stories even better.
