I've heard it often framed as "orignal is faster but less dense while maniac is slower but more dense" but nah the speeds are basically the same, at least on the Steam version.

Also I've occasionally seen people online suggest that original and maniac are similar difficulty levels but different kinds of difficulty and I don't think anyone who has said that has seriously put effort into both because that just aint true I don't know how to say it that just aint true.

Beat The Untitled Tower today, though there's a still more for me to do. A very soulful game about the creative process and the importance of sharing art with the world. Quite difficult and occasionally abrasive but with some wonderful design and charm. I'd like to write more words about it sometime
