iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Okay, what the fuck next?? Volunteer role. "You're sucking at your role." Well, you threw me in without asking me. Try, try again. Get another "shut up" moment. Okay, it's best if I leave. "NOOOO!!! Don't leaaaaaveeee!" What? You gonna miss your punching bag?

We moved to Myrtle Beach last October. We love it. It's big enough to have some variety, so it's not all Dirty and Murder. Then again, we're from Detroit. ;)

Gotcha!! I hear both used very deliberately to tear down the area. So, I was kinda expecting to see some crack or guns. Haha!

What is with founders who expect a new hire to successfully step right into a role without some time onboarding and learning context? Just because you're a startup doesn't mean everyone starts at exactly the same starting line.

Why dirty? What's wrong with this photo?

Tech hubs and founders are not where everyone belongs. Vet yourself. Try it. But don't assume it's the right place to be.

Learned a few more lessons today. I want to be nowhere near Washington DC or anywhere else "professionalism" is a measuring stick rather than skill. Believing everything fits one mold or framework isn't realistic and inhumane.

Today is reinforcement that I am not competitive. The ugly in me comes out when I'm forced to be competitive. And I don't like it. So, suck it.

Hah. I helped find an illegal gas well. It's now "legal" and documented. It was heating our home, and everyone who sold us the house lied about it.

Occasional reminder to not gatekeep when dealing with people trying to be on your side. Unity needs some grace. Train up anyone, especially those asking for knowledge.

When we are fighting for democracy, remember that everyone is not in the same place. Be kind. Bring people in and help them catch up - quickly. You learned, now expedite the process for those just tuning in. We need them.

I was a bit shocked at people who were telling me that rebels/progressives/fringe Democrats (!!) are too combative. Yep, I see it now. The gatekeeping is turning people away. Is it so hard to grasp that people actually DO want to know where they have gone wrong in their thinking??

Yep, a bit psycho. And she blames only men. Problem is that she and her friend have a valid point that needs to be discussed. But not with this one and her friend. Both need to step back from the microphone and get some calming acupuncture.

Sad you had to be such a fucking troll about it. And this paper is NOT authoritative. How about linking to the damned thing instead? If you don't want to discuss the points, don't engage.

Okay, so "equal time" is incorrect. But, they DO need to provide TIME for opposing viewpoints. That's the point.

So, explain it to me. Or stop blasting me. One of the two.

Christy Sherman @xysherman.bsky.social · 26/06/2025

So, explain it to me. It had to do with advertising and political campaigns, where news outlets needed to give equal time to both sides. If this isn't journalism, what is?

I didn't attribute support for the Fairness Doctrine to Cronkite himself. I'm bringing the two together. Maybe I need to make it more clear that we didn't need the Fairness Doctrine as much when journalists were more ethical.

Now that I know I can ask ChatGPT to compare cholesterol levels of breakfast meats, tried asking it to help me understand how to build a menu around immune-building foods. I'm going to dump it into a PDF, if anyone wants it!

I've often said that I love cleaning closets. Organizing. Decluttering. The clarity is astounding, both in the act and in the result. Can I make a business of this?

000

Christy Sherman @xysherman.bsky.social · 05/06/2025

Guess what ChatGPT helped me learn today! I have to lower my cholesterol intake. I love breakfast. I asked for a ranking of breakfast meat by cholesterol content. I lumped "ham" into one item. ChatGPT pointed out that Canadian bacon is a form of ham with less cholesterol than... just... ham.

Where are my Myrtle Beach retirees? I want to bounce an idea off you! Do you still live in a house? Condo? Assisted living? How's the stuff in your home treating you?

I should love podcasts, but I don't. I do love listening to radio news in the morning. What podcasts do you recommend that are lighter? Shorter topics, not in-depth?
