happy to see QC get its big farewell update too. quake champions was always my favorite quake gameplay wise. i'm also proud to say i came up with the name (and pushed against calling it quake world haha) and the design of athena's hook was my one big brained game designer moment!

A mysterious woman, hooded in windswept robes, stops at the edge of a rocky outcrop. With palm up, she holds out her hand, and above it floats a transparent sphere containing a solitary flame. At the edge of the cliff, she stands framed by a tall arch in the distance. A circle—an echo set above the vessel she holds—sits high in the arch. Anchored by elegantly curving supports, it suggests something mystical as if it may not exist physically in this world but rather serve as a portal to the next. Behind, blue skies fade to a peach streak across the horizon and the misty hills rolling below. She seems poised to step out into open air but she turns her head back, partially revealing her face. Her thoughts linger on where the next step will lead. Will it be over the edge and down? Or does this passage lead to someplace else?

Yesterday’s layoffs at Bethesda Games Studios were not a cut of “14 layers of management”. We lost dozens of programmers, artists, designers and testers. Many of whom worked at BGS for decades.

If Bethesda fans are worried this will harm the quality of our future games, like TES VI, let Microsoft know!

Happy 10th anniversary to the amazing DOOM (2016). As with the original before it, a game that deeply changed my life. I am forever grateful to have experienced it. 🙇💙 Sadly I haven't had time to finish my newest painting for it, so here are various acrylic paintings I've done in the past.

Artwork done in the style of Ken Sugimori for a Baltoy named Mogon Daniel. Unlike a regular Baltoy, t has the visor and backpack from an Among Us crewmate.

A fake PokéDex entry for Mogon Daniel, a Baltoy from a Panoots Nuzlocke run. The entry reads as follows: Mogon Daniel, Suspicious Pokémon, Ground/Psychic Type. A strange Pokémon found in the Alola region that closely resembles Baltoy. Trainers beware: If its mood begins to sour, this is a sign that its psychic powers have foreseen an imminent catastrophe.

A 5-panel comic strip recreating the scene from Spongebob Squarepants season 1, episode 2 "Ripped Pants", only with a different ending. It uses Panoots' P-Wing character, the Baltoy named Mogon Daniel, and various Alolan NPCs instead of the usual characters. Hi! Seems like I picked a busy day to finally join Bluesky. 😅 I'm Xous, illustrator/concept artist. I'll have some new art to share in the future, so in the meantime here are a few pieces of older work. Including a doodle I made a while back that never got to post anywhere before. 😃

A look of adrenaline-fueled rage and fear is just visible through the visor of his helmet. An Imp in the foreground looks on while a Cacodemon and two Lost Souls approach from the sky. A Baron of Hell emerges from the red mists of the Hell Keep. The ruined Deimos moon base floats far above in the crimson sky.

A Galarian Rapidash pridefully galloping through its home, the Glimwood Tangle. A lively leaf-filled breeze flows alongside it as the sun sets in the distance and the stars begin to appear in the dimming sky.
