You find yourself thinking. But then it clicks. There it is. Strange, disturbing, and yet, desirable. You try to look away, like you're trying to stop scrolling short form videos to put laundry away, but you can't. You're in danger. It's moving. It's behind you. You can't see it. You can't hear it. But you know it is there, watching you. Listening to you. You snap out of your daze, you're trying to hide from it. But you can feel it's prying eyes cutting into you no matter where you are. "April fools hahaha" you think, what a preposterous picture. I just need to think about something else. I just need to move on with my day. I still have so much to do. All the while you sense it's piercing sharp gaze. It's stalking presence. Until you feel something tangible. And it all ends.

I spent all morning drawing bean people, about half of which are soiling themselves. This isn't exactly what I imagined running a small business would be like.

For career day at my kid's school, I made a quick little card game, Vibes, to show them how I playtest and get feedback on my games. It was a big hit with the class!

A spread of cards showing various cute animal faces with a speech bubble with a star, heart, or block with a shade of blue, pink, or yellow. In the middle is a rules card for Vibes:

Remove the rainbow cards, then add one rainbow card if there are an odd number of players.

Shuffle the cards into a stack, then each player takes a card.

Your goal is to find someone you vibe with, who is talking about something with a common color or shape.

If you have a rainbow card, you are happy to vibe on your own, help the others find someone to vibe with!

You can also swap your card with one from the deck if you like.

I fired a lot of friends at Unpub! Perhaps unionizing the entire con was a bit ambitious, but a small group did manage to organize at the end. I think that makes for a small successful union! Thanks for the picture, @drayerink.bsky.social !
