Comics On The Big And Small Screen Rewatching Black Phone, not surprised to see a comic rack in a convenience store. Was def surprised one comic was titled The Defecator - well played. And were all the made up ones just in order to slip in that Grimjack in 3rd pic? (tried to I.D. Issue # no luck)

Today STAR TREK #1 arrives. I discovered Trek when I was 10, moving to a new school. This was the book I kept in my bag. Before I met friends, I met Star Trek. It’s now the 60th anniversary. I wanted this book to be everything. Our past stays with us as we boldly go forward into the future.

Yesterday made a patty melt on rye, my fav (greasy) diner choice, 1st time in at least a decade #homecooking 🍜 Closest, in terms of taste and joy, I’ve gotten from any diner fare cooked at home. Def some tweaks next time, but cast iron for the win.

Just had my fav, a Toasted Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese and Bacon #homecooking 🍜 It’s the main reason I started making bagels from scratch a few years ago. So I could have one when the craving struck w/out leaving the house.

Celebrating Dad’s 95th bday eating sushi and watching NFL. Don’t take any of it for granted. Pro tip: if you can’t find a 95th bday card, etiquette says just add card # s together. My Dad has a great sense of humor, loved my joke about the bonus cognitive test (maze) inside the 5th card.

Missed the last couple #MondayRunday posts. Never seen that Adventure Comics run - so cool! Going with the full 22 issues of FOOM, Marvel’s 1970’s fanzine. Besides a certain long X-title, the hardest run for me to complete. Took 4-5 yrs, prob 2/3 found in the wild. #FOOM

Tonight made Chili Crisp Fried Rice, first time this type, from cookbook Chili Crisp by James Park (2023) 🍜🍽️ #homecooking Taken better fried rice pics, but AT LEAST 5X better texture (all credit: recipe) than previous attempts. Coating rice in egg yolk+sauce before sautéing works. And so flavorful.

Shouting out a new limited series The Eye Collector catching up on pull list Best surprise coming back to comics 13 yrs ago? The amazing creator-owned horror/supernatural comics. Especially unique, strange titles like Wytches, Gideon Falls, Ice Cream Man, etc. So far very good for The Eye Collector
