Playing God, Pool, or Proof, one of those three imo

Conservatism is being ass-mad that the world is more complicated than you thought it was when you were 7 years old and then doing everything in your power to force it to be as simplistic as you thought it was at 7.

Something I’ve noticed about the Pokémon fandom is that a lot of people who claim to hate genwunners are just genwunners but for whatever gen came out when they were 8 years old

2020 NFC East is SO fucking back let’s go

My god, he absolutely nailed what was needed from him. “Guy who thinks of himself as a hero doing the world a service but cares about tv ratings above all else and has zero light behind his eyes the entire film”. Full on goosebumps

As someone who’s normally pretty dense when it comes to telling what is and isn’t good acting, Robert Pattinson’s performance in Primetime absolutely floored me

Even with that in mind that is usually far from a dealbreaker for me, I love plenty of quieter slow burn slice of life stuff, I’m not quite sure why this one didn’t hit for me

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Only Yesterday was the first Studio Ghibli movie that didn’t… quite work for me. I appreciated a lot of what it was going for and related a lot to a lot of the family aspects of it but I found too much of it to be dull and moved at a glacier pace

I think people who believe the Earth is flat have more grounds for what they believe in than people who believe that Chappell Roan had any influence on the 2024 presidential election

Day’s almost over and I never wished Lily Hoshikawa a happy birthday. Happy birthday Lily Hoshikawa, who is perhaps my favorite fictional character ever

Cannot get behind Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now hate at all that song rules but good lists as usual otherwise Here’s mine

Kiki’s Delivery Service is really a transfem wish fulfillment film. Every trans girl’s dream is to move to a new city where everybody likes you because you’re cute and so nice to everyone

Grave of the Fireflies is great and also I very well may never watch it again

Real good. Majority of the movie is essentially just The Hangover For Kids but then the ending really tugs at your heartstrings and makes it go from good to great. I recommend

I was gonna see Primetime but, I messed up and spent too much time at the mall and missed the only convenient showtime so… Seeing Forgotten Island as my backup plan, let’s go

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Watched it a bit out of order from my Ghibli binge because Izakaya was playing it. Watching it while buzzed meant I cried when the old lady made her a cake so that was fun

Watching Kiki’s Delivery Service for the first time and immediately feeling intense maternal instincts toward Kiki

Finally did the thing

Yeah this Chargers team looks awful. I cannot believe how badly they regressed. I was expecting the defense to get worse after losing Minter but the offense? With a healthier o line and swapping Roman at oc for McDaniel? I have no idea how it got so bad between seasons

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Now I’m not at all saying that anybody should defend Oney but I sure didn’t see any talks about “restorative justice” when his allegations came out. You only care about that when it means you can still watch your favorite video essayist without guilt

The takes people have about sa/rape allegations among celebrities and creators are almost always determined by how much they liked the accused prior to the allegations People are *really* showing their ass with how they’re responding to the Jacob Geller allegations

Got into a fight with upper management because the anniversary of when Zombie Land Saga first released apparantly “doesn’t count as a religious holiday that I need off” They aren’t even paying me time and a half for having to work it, this is some bullshit

The film is wonderful, beautiful themes and narrative, but the whole time the main thing I was thinking was that I genuinely can’t believe this movie came out in 1984. My god the visuals and animation are absolutely stunning, especially for the time

Beginning my Studio Ghibli binge with Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Will report back in 2 hours

Idk what website I signed up for recently that sold my data but if I find out they are now my biggest enemy. I’ve been getting way more spam calls than usual, like, 3-5 a day. Love capitalism. This shit rocks

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Just got a popup Kalshi ad on Tumblr Literally no social media ever should have popup ads and ESPECIALLY none for fucking Kalshi. Suck my gock Tumblr, eat shit

RIP X2 at Magic Mountain. Still one of my all time favorite coasters. Really really sad to see it go. Glad I got to ride such a legend. Not a huge surprise given recent events but still sad to see

I saw Princess Mononoke for the first time a few days ago and I am not proud of the fact that “this is the same movie as Lucario and the Mystery of Mew” came into my brain while watching lmao I guess now I know why it’s my favorite Pokémon movie though because goddamn Princess Mononoke is amazing

Why do communities even exist? Also, semi-related, why does YouTube have DMs and why does it automatically take me to DMs when someone sends a link? Why does every social media app want to be every other social media app so badly? If I wanted to use Facebook I’d use Facebook. Shut up and play videos

Is there a way to just mute all YouTube communities from my sub box? Regardless of which YouTuber’s community it is I have not seen a single post in any of them that didn’t make me go “yeah the person who posted this is definitely 12”

Well hey we got the win 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 Wish we did it in a less heart attack inducing way but it’s the Cowboys offense so I’ll let it slide. Don’t do this shit again though

Head coach change has not prevented the Ravens from being physically incapable of playing more than 3 quarters

Iced coffee at job interview discourse feels so lame. We’ve lost our fastball on inane mind numbing discourse. We used to talk about if making chili for your neighbor was ableist this is some weaksauce shit, we can do better

Absolutely loved it ftr. I was gonna start a Studio Ghibli binge after finished season 1 of Sailor Moon (been slacking on that ftr lol) but I had to see Princess Mononoke while it’s in theaters for Ghibli Fest before I did any of that

Girl who’s only seen Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew watching her second movie: getting a lot of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew vibes from this (Just saw Princess Mononoke for the first time)

90% of posts about Oney on here are like “Haha hell yeah, this famous person I hate is a pedophile which is AWESOME. I always hated that guy and now everyone does! I find it amazeballs that this guy I don’t like groomed children!”

By all metrics we were… very lucky that we all agreed on a halfway decent Twitter alternative that actually ended up sustaining itself. That shit is lightning in a bottle. Getting literally everyone to migrate to a brand new similar but different platform is Very Hard Actually

Had that moment of “took a nap in the early evening and woke up not knowing what fucking day it is for like 10 seconds”

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

No you see the national media hates my team and my city specifically. They hate them way more than any other city and never give them any credit. The refs hate us the most too

May @xjmay.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Any time a team has an annoying fanbase people just default to hating the qb because they’re tired of hearing about them all the time. Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts have this type of bad faith discussion around them too

Someone in a Discord server I’m in accidentally stumbled into this subreddit once without knowing like, anything at all about TADC, and their takeaway was “these people treat writing a bad cartoon episode like it’s worthy of the guillotine”

A key element of fascism is making it appear that the entire world is organized against your group when in fact you are in the most advantageous and powerful position in society. Mario fans are a textbook example of this phenomenon

Great great stuff. I went in kinda expecting an Eddy Burback Rainforest Cafe-esque “goofy vacation where the person doing it exhausts themselves by going as far as possible” vid and it is that in some parts but it’s also got some really great and insightful commentary in there as well
