Those numbers may not seem much to some, but keep in mind russians deported the brightest minds from every country – teachers, writers, judges, policemen, businessmen. Along with their families. So many lives destroyed, so many relatives never met again.

Stalin and his successors killed more his own people than he killed nazis. Russian (ethnicity) suffered the most actually, but deportations, famine, just plain death sentences with or without trials were in every occupied country. That's a true "liberator".

I responded to the meme promoting Stalin. Some wannabe socialists in the West tend to idealise him. People that experienced communism and soviet onion first hand, know what it really means. Nazism and communism both are equal evils. However the latter is not forbidden, which is wrong.

It has gone too far to solve all this mess with diplomacy alone. Russia needs to be humiliated on the war field, then ruZ elites might turn against putin, and then the nation might actually start taking a side against the elites. And to drag russia out of swamp, intl. diplomacy might have a chance.

I think it is nothing, but another China-affiliated ship sailed erratically through Baltic Sea last days. Freighter HENG JI 168 left St Petersburg Nov 22 and had large problems keeping speed and holding course. She also slowed down to a stop. All in roughly the same stretch as Yi Peng 3.

Russia and Nazi Germany were allies for years, russia supplied nazis with gas, grain etc. Both invaded Poland from each side and split it up between themselves. Only later they became enemies. You are correct about Yeltsin, he fcked up in his late years, but he personally chose putin as his successor and announced it on New Year's Eve. And then putin made sure he will be elected (with bombings attributed to Chechens). After that russians didn't protest constitution changes, "elections".

Ok, so Georgia, Syria, Ukraine could get out on the streets and show there are many that don't agree with the government course/stolen elections/whatever. But even 1% of people have not come out on the streets in Moscow (it rules all the rest of the country). Kitchen talks wont change anything.

Come on, russia was free and democratic for a some time in the 1990ties. People stood up for Yeltsin, defended their White House when there was an attempt of a coup. And only then in 2000 Yeltsin handed it over to putin, and he started with bombings. They could, but didn't. Yeah, fucked up.

Russians raised putin and putin trained them to not get involved. Yet nobody is responsible? Russia won't be fixed from outside (they have nukes for this very reason, and nobody will have to guts). Russia can be fixed only from inside, only they themselves must want to fix their own country.

Yes, russia has long-standing relations with Hamas. And Iran. And you probably already know that Iran supports Hamas. In the months leading up to Hamas' Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel, there were critical meetings between Russian and Hamas leaders in Moscow.
