This is a UI argument I've been making for years. Since widescreen aspect ratio monitors became the norm, we have a surplus of horizontal screen real estate and a lack on the vertical. And since websites aren't expanding breakpoints to use the width, it only make sense to put UI on the side.

I’ve been watching F1 since my grandfather took me to the final Detroit GP as a child. The F1 audience was both shrinking and aging under Ecclestone. Now the global audience has grown from ~500M cuml. in ‘14, into the billions now. If you love F1 and want it to have a future, you’re welcome… mate.

Those statistics don’t really support the argument. Family cars are still used solo frequently but having four doors makes it more convenient for times when they’re needed. There’s no appreciable cost savings for making a two door. This is an abandoned design for a two door passenger car, not a taxi

Kinda surprised I didn't hear more about this movie. Motor City (2025) has basically no dialogue, and it seems to actually work. The gimmick gets a little thin over and hour and forty-five minutes, but it mostly works.
