Been a good while since I last popped on here. Can we talk about how frustrating it is when you're trying to find people who are serious about collaborating, only to keep running into people who talk up the idea of doing stuff, then bail on you when the time comes to do it? 💀

I had the weirdest thing happen this morning with another artist who seemed cool at first. Until he unloaded on me for not starting our conversations with small talk. (And here's my question, why am I the one that's expected to?) ...this is just awkward, and I don't feel safe around this person.

Happy New Year! And there's a new episode out today! 🍻 Also, I wanted to remind everyone that #Webtoon has updated their TOS. Since this #webcomic is rated mature, you will need to verify your age to view it. I'll post the clickable in the comments! ❤️

Still searching. Let's find these guys and put them in the spotlight! Good publishers and agents deserve it. #authorsofbluesky #writingcommunity

ISO sci-fi publishers/agents that have a good reputation, don't publish or work with AI generated slop, and allow the author to have creative freedom. Please repost. Let's gather a thread of good publishers and agents for the community.

2 years ago I would not have been able to do these emotional scenes in season 2 any justice. My art has come so far that I almost can't believe I'm doing this. The expressions... the emotion... the life my characters now have, is something I once dreamed of being able to do.

Another character comparison. Also, a year's difference in Aerik's design.

Xek Rychtevorik @xek-rychtevorik.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

Here's what a year's difference in my art style looks like. Tbh, I love Vey's new look. Her original design in 2004 had bangs, but I removed them for a period of time due to my inexperience and inability to get them to look right. #characterdesign #webcomics #artstyle

Let's talk. With the current nature of the internet, there seems to be no realistic way to 100% safeguard your intellectual property without the means of having a lawyer on retainer. Experienced authors and artists, what advice do you all have? #art #Authors #artists #AI #LegalHelp

Question for the neurodivergent authors... What are some things I can try to get out of the "locked up and frozen" state that I'm in? Burnout really got ahold of me this year and while I am able to make myself focus on getting the work done for my webcomic.... ***Continued... #Authorsofbluesky

Some people don't know this, especially if Adobe is all they know. If you're looking for a good digital drawing software but can't afford to pay anything... IBIS Paint and Krita are both good options. I use Ibis myself, and I love it more than i ever did Photoshop. #art #drawing #digitalart

One of the worst parts about being mentally ill for me is needing to feel heard and seen and, at the same time, not having anyone who seems to care. Especially when "it" gets really bad. And yes, it affects my art and writing in ways I don't like. #AuDHD #MentalHealth #Autism #ADHD #Depression

Saw this on fb and man... imagine getting upset and salty because authors and artists are trying to protect their intellectual property from Gen AI.

A screenshot shared from the artists against AI group on FB.

AI users are seen taking offense by an author's copyright page.

What are you all up to today? I'm currently fighting off an upper respiratory infection, hoping to get some writing or comic art done in a bit.

Just a reminder while it feels nice and safe here…we are still on the internet and on a now much more popular social media site. With this comes the bad out there too. Don’t get complacent. You still need to do the work of being aware of your surroundings and people you allow in your space. #bluesky

Okay so genuine question for fellow artists on bluesky... How safe is this place? I haven't heard much about how bsky treats our work.
