Yeah I definitely just need to sit down and practice, my main problem is that I'm usually a really quick learner, but drawing for some reason has always felt like a brick wall 😩I always go straight for what I'd like to eventually draw instead of the more practical exercises

served me well for 2 years so far. I've been an admin in a couple discords with thousands of members, and having to deal with people arguing "but the rules didn't say that I specifically couldn't use *homophobic* slurs!!", without a shred of sarcasm, was so draining.

I meant things like postprocess filters & tv/monitor settings that just add noise to any edges - sounds like you're probably talking about texture filtering? (nearest-neighbor, bilinear, xBR etc) I like nearest-neighbor for pixel art styles, but the filter I'm talking about just makes things crusty

And your video mainly only went over the proposed positives and not the negatives, beyond the occasional acknowledgement of DLSS3's flaws. It's hard to build substantial critique on something that isn't even out yet, so it's kind of an uphill battle with how competitive the youtube ecosystem is.

(My favorite is baking the distance from the vertex to the center of the polygon in 1.5 extra UV channels\ so you can calculate where the center is at runtime. Very useful for collapsing polygons outside of the camera frustum in the vertex shader to avoid pixel shader evaluation!)

using Houdini for VFX is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand you get a non-destructive workflow that allows for rapid iteration and adding variations... But then on the other hand there's the rabbit hole of "I haven't baked anything into the vertex alpha channel yet..."
