“For profit” has nothing to do with it. Every year, Congress votes on a budget. Money not allocated legally cannot be spent. Supplies cost money. Doctors require salaries. What happens when the utilization exceeds capacity? What happens if the budget under allocates money needed to cover services?

One big problem is the people who determine if you’re covered are the same people who have an interest to deny you. Things will not improve shifting that to “single payer”.
