The Palpatine effect is so real. The vicious ugliness just transforms their physical form to relect what's inside.

t h anks for posting this I came here to do the same. Insane.

Saddened to hear we lost illustration maestro Manuel Pérez Clemente, known as SANJULIAN, one of the absolute best to ever do it. He started around the time Frazetta quit doing Warren covers & became a staple of horror/fantasy art with his classic run of paintings for Eerie, Creepy, Vampirella & 1984

A few covers by fantasy/horror artist SANJULIAN

Looking for a bespoke piece of art, then hit up the wonderful Dani Ryan and see if they can make your dreams a reality, like she did for me with this awesome Harley Quinn police line-up. Or check out her works that are for sale. All wonderful, all the time.

But like, we have been saying for years there are no wolves on Fenris. It was not an inside joke, not a linguistic lore sidequest. There are no wolves on Fenris. Only raccoons.

Funnily enough I feel like this isn't even a high bar to get over. This is the bare mininum we demand for our households, right? The real problem is scale. Can't deliver when we start getting up to 5, 10, 15 thousand people. Works a treat at the tribe/neighborhood size though.

If your society isn't safe for everybody to walk around with their hands empty and their hearts open, then your society is failing.

Trex tryna wipe his brow at the results but his arms are too little. :(

I've just always been in love with the word whalefall. It's like the single most loaded, expansive word ever.

More people need to take the name of the thing literally. Sometimes it works, literally. Just sayin'

What's stopping you from puttin on an eye patch, changing your name to Odin, befriending wolves and ravens, and just taking that whole package to a new town? Serious replies only.

qualified immunity has never made sense. How people ever thought it was a good idea is beyond me. End it now.

this is really really fascinating. what's happened on ravelry is almost certainly reflected across every single other creator space online — your youtubes, your tiktoks, your instagrams. there's just not a lot of space left in the middle:

And as you have already noted, a whole lot of us are struggling to figure out the path to the livable middle in an era where there are no easy formulas anymore. I know that for anyone who came of age and established a career in a different era, talking about how you can't grow your platform on social media might sound like complaining about a very first-world problem. But what else are we supposed to do when there are so few good jobs left, and everyone is telling you to build a portfolio career? The thing that worries me is that we're being pushed toward self-sufficiency at exactly the same time that it seems to be getting harder to build a sustainable independent career that isn’t dictated by the whims of tech companies and social media algorithms. This is true for both new and established creators.

The idea of someone else telling you what to do with your home and land defeats the whole purpose of having a home and land. Why anyone would ever agree to live under those terms beyond me. I couldn't do it.

It's pretty hard to overstate the revulsion new england protestants have for born again bullshit and all its anti-christian mutations of late, but the churhes never speak out. That's a moral failing. Sensible reverends who run soup kitchens should NOT run interference for rapey grifting charlatans.
