iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I agree it is confusing, without checkboxes or switches 🤔

Will Stone @wstone.uk · 21/09/2026

I know this is a difficult one because they are crossed to say "this is the action that _will_ happen" so maybe they'd need to be styled differently from other buttons anyway to make them look more toggle-y 🤷‍♂️

Will Stone @wstone.uk · 21/09/2026

Thanks 🙂 One feature request I'd have is that could the icons only cross through when they are currently disabling the thing? Accessibility rules state that colour shouldn't be the only indicator but I'd also find it useful to see at a glance that JS and the Shield are not crossed when browsing.

I'm liking the no-JS solution so much that I've added it to the toolbar 😎 Thanks!

Is it just me or does the macOS Golden Gate battery icon look a bit like a milk bottle? 🍼

RE the ad blocker… it was me 🤦‍♂️had it disabled 🙄 must have been from a previous visit. Anyway, will try the JS trick, thanks 😅

Good plan, will do 👍 🙂

Yeah, getting 100 on that test page. I'll send you some sites when I notice it again. One of them was TechCrunch.com

@quiche.industries Hi 👋 🙂 Looks like the ad blocker stopped working in the last release, or at least I’m seeing a lot of ads now.

@ethical-consumer.bsky.social hi 👋 could I please ask for a digital music purchase feature? To sit alongside your Music Streaming feature; surely it’s more ethical to buy mp3s than streaming them? Or is it? It’d be great to know 😅

110

Will Stone @wstone.uk · 14/08/2026

How strange. Maybe there’s a way of turning it off 🤷‍♂️ no idea.

I just checked Firefox and Safari and they both do it.

I used to think this too but link-to-highlight solves the issue.

Some simple ways Apple could improve iOS's App Library screen: - Allow for apps to be manually categorised. - Stop moving the categories around! And allow for muscle memory. - Allow it to be the _only_ homescreen, and/or allow it to be moved.

It was something to do with how I'd linked PayPal to the service, if I recall correctly. I ended up just closing the account and moving to a different service. But I totally agree. It's not like you can get a refund from any of the video-games stores, at least not after that length of time.

I had this once on a buy-me-a-coffee website. The software I made was free and nothing, technically, to do with the payment; there was no reason for the person to make the bloody payment in the first place! But I still had to pay the fee.

Thanks! 🙂 "scraped from Google" is that legal? 😬 Not that Big Tech follow the rules, just wondering.

@anilineapps.bsky.social please don't do this. I've supported you by buying the lifetime membership. Also you're not respecting the iOS "In-App Ratings & Reviews" setting. But worst of all: the X button doesn't do anything.

@quiche.industries Odd request, I know, but is it possible to support “Safari Web Pages” from Quiche’s share sheet? It allows the url and name to be retrieved in Shortcuts and means they can be sent on to other apps. Not seen it supported in any browser other than Safari so not sure if possible.

Hi @soapboxsoftware.bsky.social 👋🙂 I recently moved to Eurosky but now can't see any messages. I seem to remember it took a while for them to appear when first getting Indigo but it's been 24 hours now. Any suggestions? (Messages show in bsky app)

I’ve been trying out Indigo in readonly mode and feel I’m moments away from buying lifetime but there’s just something off with the perf: it feels quite stuttery when scrolling up through my timeline. Is this something that’s on the radar? iPhone 15 Pro, latest iOS.

100

Will Stone @wstone.uk · 13/05/2026

Not everyone. Reading those guides helps with learning how a project is mutating, and new features. Without learning those things, you’re mentally stuck with the old ways and won’t write code using the new way by default. Maybe AI should be clever enough to read the migration docs.
