Excited to share that a few weeks ago I started a new postdoc in Dr Warren Lee's lab @utoronto.ca @unityhealthto.bsky.social investigating endothelial leakage caused by transcytosis. I'm really looking forward to this new adventure!

Recently we were trying to change the colour of superfolder GFP and accidentally engineered a great probe for expansion microscopy! Read about it in our first micropublication - lnkd.in/eCxYcCJZ

Our new paper is published in the Journal of Chemical Biology! 🏮 We share StayRose, a red version of StayGold 🏮 StayRose has an unnatural amino acid-based chromophore, and has the same immense photobleach-resistance as StayGold 💡

mStayRose is published in JBC 🥳🎉 Congratulations @wsctt.bsky.social @sporemohan.bsky.social and team for the monumental effort to make a non-natural amino acid incorporating fluorescent protein accessible. It's based on mStayGold, bright, and photostable: www.jbc.org/article/S002...

Glad to connect with everyone! I'm a synthetic biologist and chemist imaging the actin cytoskeleton in Mohan Balasubramanian's group (University of Warwick) on an end-of-PhD transition fellowship. Here are my yeast from throughout my PhD (can you see which weeks I was particularly stressed 😂)
