Totally natural, it's the curse of being a writer, we will always be better later on and find things in our earlier books we wish we didn't. =) But usually it's only things that we can see. So it's usually ok. Cheers, - C

Agree. This. ⬆️ Sometimes you have to move on to somethng else, until you are ready. Another scene, another chapter. Or even just thinking/reverse outlining. I wobble between pantsing and planning. =) I plot and plan when it's needed. I reverse outline to fill in the spots, to get a better understanding of the story and for the reader to also. And I even visual plot briefly when I know what I want, to stop writing blocks. =) But not forced to follow.

Not all stories come out whole. Once I close the end of my first draft, I like to think of that time after it as re-plotting time. I take some time to think if all the story elements line up.
