Still only £2.63 on UK Amazon, which means you can buy yourself a copy and have enough left over to buy one a friend. Or an enemy. Or a casual acquaintance. Ten stories of horror and archaeology for less than a cheap coffee.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. #766: Writing is a community. Participate in it if you can. Engage with other writers. Lift them up, and they’ll do the same. Try to go it alone, or treat other writers as rivals, and you’re more likely to sink than swim.

Val Kilmer’s THE SAINT X KILLING EVE  Codename Saint is ready to cash in a decade of loose morals. But when her cover is blown on her final job (while in bed with her mark), she’ll have to find a way to save her target’s life after betraying her trust.  #bluepit #a #r #lgbt #w

Do you have a favourite book? It’s a tough choice but Strange Sally Diamond by @liznugent.bsky.social is definitely up there for me. Here’s my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review, if you haven’t read it yet I can’t recommend it enough! 💙📚
UK and US editions of Strange Sally Diamond by Liz NugentWhen Sally’s dad dies she puts him out with the trash - literally, starting a snowball of events that threaten to upend her sheltered life in the small village of Carricksheedy. It isn’t just the unwanted attention from the Police and the media that’s upsetting Sally, someone from her past is reaching out to her - but who are they and what do they want?

Intricately crafted between two viewpoints and timelines we find out more about Sally’s backstory and the events made her into the person she is today.

This book is absolutely brilliant and I was completely engrossed in the story from the first page. It’s a really complex novel and about so much more than a young woman who has taken her dad at his word. I feel like its one of those books where it’s best to go in not knowing too much as I really enjoyed the element of surprise as we find out more about what’s really gone on in Sally’s life.

I loved how the characters in the book were portrayed, you’re never quite sure who you’re meant to be rooting for and who Sally needs to be wary of. Liz Nugent has an uncanny ability to make you wrestle with your feelings about the actions committed by some of the characters and just when you think you’ve figured them out everything changes! I particularly enjoyed the way Sally was written - in a few books I’ve read recently characters who could be neurodivergent are often portrayed as being someone to be made fun of or pitied and Sally is neither of those things. Sure, she makes some unusual decisions and thinks about things in a non-typical way but she’s smart and caring and talented and so many more things besides.
