Wren @wren.dog · 09/09/2026The scramble gains about 600 ft over the last 0.6 miles. Foot and hand holds were not a problem, although there was a lot of loose rock. The route is climber’s right of the ridge. Falling would entail sliding along the rocky surface (“human cheese grater”) before a 1,000 ft drop. #PNW #hiking 131
Wren @wren.dog · 09/09/2026McClellan Butte. 7 mi, 3,195 ft (from FR 9020). #PNW #hiking Finally cleared to hike again! Unfortunately, the peak was in the clouds the entire time I was up there. Still enjoyable, though. The class 3 scramble at the top was a nice feature. 150

Wren @wren.dog · 26/08/2026CBP website has incorrect information. If you have NEXUS, you can only go to a NEXUS enrollment center. There are very few NEXUS enrollment centers, in comparison with “any CBP Trusted Traveler enrollment center”, and they are basically only on the US-Canada border. 100

Wren @wren.dog · 07/08/2026TIL: ibuprofen is a mix of active and inactive isomers. The active isomer is dexibuprofen which is not approved by the FDA… supposedly just because the industry has deemed the hassle of approval not worth the benefit over ibuprofen. 020
Wren @wren.dog · 22/06/2026A couple of the clouded leopards at Point Defiance. It was really difficult to get photos of them as there was no way to see them without looking through dirty glass exposed to sunlight. 1166
Wren @wren.dog · 16/06/2026I had forgotten how cool it was to hike up Granite Mountain in a little drizzle and back down in snow back in 2019. #PNW #hiking 041
